The new Campout Committee is working with Brock to keep this fine tradition going as usual.........
And Brock has graciously agreed to be “Master of Ceremonies” on Saturday like he usually does, so things should seem the same to “the casual observer!” ;-)
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Saturday evening picnic and group campfire afterwards!(and Thurs/Fri evenings too ;-)
And DON’T forget to bring your PINKS! We’re gonna have a big PINK bonfire on Saturday night! : )
I thought everyone was just sending them to you?
Nope! I’m actually a bit disappointed.....................only got that one. I figured I might get flooded or at least one a day for a couple weeks............ ;-)
Gotta watch, there is an address on that one. And, as everyone knows, pink envelopes are like a virus, they multiply and breed.
OK- let’s get some excitement going! Less than 4 weeks away! : )
Anybody recognize these characters?
The water is always crystal clear and refreshing up there near Trout Run!
Always look forward to the bike ride up Pleasant Stream Road!
Nightly campfire................(started early this evening!)
Can’t believe it’s next weekend!
Damn, I was fat last year!
Nah, that ain’t nothin’ Joe! ;-)
At least you didn’t lose your head! : )
OK Folks- we're only a couple days away now! Weather forecast looks good! Join us for a weekend of camping, bow shooting, swimming in the creek, fishing, and just sitting around a good campfire! : )
Camp RutNut is set up! : )
Caught fresh trout yesterday morning to go with the breakfast sausage...............
Walk to swimming/fishing hole.................
I won't be making it. Everyone have a great time. Post pic's when you can, even after the weekend. I know service is bad. Watch the rattle snakes, I heard that the blasting for the windmills has pushed the Rattlers down into the valley. :)
PS,, Anyone know if Perry, aka Rut nut, aka Snake bite, packed up his tent and left camp early? :) If he did he's not a very good social director. :)
Not sure what looks better today, the swimming hole or bekfast!
Yep- 22nd year!
Thanks Ed! I’m still here. Wearing the snake boots and my Taurus Judge with .410 loads. No snakes! ;-)
Cooked kabobs yesterday on our new double truck rim cooker.............
Good redneck ingenuity! ;-)
Got our obligatory storm on Friday afternoon. Came out of NOWHERE! One GIGANTIC bolt of lightning hit VERY close by while some of us were under the pavilion- scared the $&%# out of us! Thankfully no high winds or hail though. And passed in time for our evening campfire.
Had a pretty good turnout even though several of the “regulars” had last minute unavoidable situations that prevented their attendance.
Brock agreed to MC Saturday nite’s festivities one last time...................
He even got to shoot the course this year for the first time in 22 years! ;-)
Our new UBP President plays the guitar and we sang John Denver songs around the campfire........................at one point there were 30 chairs in the circle!
Looks like Ned was in the head of the line to eat. lol. Can we assume that Brock is a grandfather now? He sure looks like one. lol. Is that Sam playing back rythm, or lead? Did Hirscheisers Make it?
"....and we sang John Denver songs around the campfire"
"Poems, Prayers, and Promises" Looks like a great time!!
Yes and yes! ;-). Sam was backup guitar and vocals but he took the lead on A BOY NAMED SUE! (we did some Johnny Cash too! ;-)
Don’t think they did that one Tom- but they did ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH a couple times! : )
Ya know Perry, if you listen to the lyrics of that song (Poems, Prayers..) it's quite apropos to us greybeards.
Wayne playing the guitar, missed that.
You're right Tom- that was never really one of my favorites, but I looked up the lyrics and you are so right..........................................
Oh, and forgot to mention: Ned set another personal record for “most consecutive days alive!” ;-)
Hope I can catch up to him someday. LOL.
