Hope to get JD back soon, this tight back business has me nervous. Still, it wasn’t too long ago I worried about losing to schools like SEMO; so an easy win was sure nice. Need to shore up that d-line. Should be a decent test next week, IL is down this year it appears, but they still have the horses run with KU and possibly win.
At home, yes. But anything can happen. They won't go undefeated, but the chances of them winning a national title is pretty high. They should have have been in the playoff last year.
I don’t know if I can watch football anymore. This is absolutely ridiculous. Two KU players ejected for legal hits. Refs have given IL 10 points now AND disqualified two of KU most important players. Unbelievable…….
34-23, game not even remotely as close as that score. KU dominated. Had a touchdown taken away by a bogus call, and two touchdowns gifted to IL. Big 10 refs suck!! Not sure if IL is any good, KU made them look pretty mediocre.
JV had a couple games last night but now it’s time for Varsity. Well except for one team that’s about to play here in a few minutes…that team on the banks of the Brazos should’ve played last night.
Calhoun, your shtick is mildly amusing, one day you’ll see you picked the wrong Kansas team. Baylor isn’t getting whooped yet, according to the score anyway, nobody cares up this way to actually watch them.
Kaleb sometimes you hate to put pressure on the ref to make a call on a desperation heave on the last play of the game. It was a little bit there but they were both fighting for the ball and I believe the ball was out of bounds and uncatchable anyways.
Baylor has bigger problems on their hands then to be worried about any calls.
Kinda funny Kyle, my State brothers-in-law were complaining about the refs in the KU game too; but they’re aren’t annoying State fans, you’ve got that market cornered for sure. :-)
Officials make mistakes, but they are minor in comparison to the mistakes made by players and coaches. Over the course of a game, they really have minimal effect on the outcome. I have been on both ends of it. Did a lot of high school basketball officiating back in the day and spent more than 25 years coaching at the high school level, mostly as head basketball and track coach. However, I was a head coach for Jr. High Football until we lost our program due to numbers. It is always comical to listen to people complain about officiating. KSQ would be completely lost if you stuck him on a jr high football officiating crew. Not that he couldn't learn, but that it is one of the hardest jobs you will ever do, besides teaching. No matter the call, half of the crowd and viewers hate you. And most all of the fans don't understand the rules anyway. I watched the KU game last night and I am a KU fan, and really never noticed the officiating. I will add that NFL officials are correct on 98.9% of the calls. I don't know what the stats are for NCAA but I am sure it is close to that. The Big 10 officials do not "Suck". But over the years, KU football has.
Refs are human, they make mistakes. Some make more than others. The refs last night were abysmal. Sorry west, your mountains of experience don’t always make you right, except for the fact last night’s outcome wasn’t affected, so I guess you were right about that. The better team won.
Tell you what KSQ, I will email you a copy of the National Federation Rules test for H.S Football. If you promise you won't look up the answers and honestly take the test and score 60% or better I will paypal you $20. And you can't mention the word "Drought" again.
Lol, I’m not saying I want to trade places with them. I haven’t watched a high school football game in almost a decade anyway. How much does a DI ref make for a game? Those jokers last night should have given their paychecks back….
I'm telling you, you could make some extra money for Christmas, bowhunting supplies, a rain dance outfit, etc by officiating some junior high football and basketball. School are always looking for officials for junior high sports. It would be a great service to give your time to those kids in SEK.
Big Ten has looked suspect, as has the SEC. Big 12 has looked weak as well. Has the PAC 12 lost a non-conference game yet? The best football conference in ‘23 just fell apart, cue Alanis Morissette….
I never would have thought Alabama would have lost at home. Their offensive line looked terrible and of course qb. Texas defense is the real deal. The portal has changed everything. Nothing but semi pro football now.
The bowl with the skimpiest view had less in it but lots of folks on the west and east side. 40+ thousand in attendance. Buddy was shooting snaps and sending them back to me as he was there.
MUCH more worried….at least James is not delusional about who their Daddy is. That is clearly a defined and worn out trail that leads back to the ole woodshed. Thankfully for you James you only get one spakin a year from em.
James…WOW you actually believe that? That in itself tells me all I need to know about you….as if the “Breaking A Drought Thread” (with your Jurassic Park green lawn) where you go to talk to yourself didn’t already tell me all that you are is…..nothing more than a complainer and exaggerator by heart. If you care so much about that Lincoln Lieley story, go ahead and call Sarah. Her contact info. is provided.
You know what isn’t a lie…see football series records. You can talk all you want about K-State since KU leads that series (even though K-State has won the last 14 straight). However, when Be Still references who KU’s Daddy is and who’s been giving KU all those whoop’ins behind the woodshed….it sure is hell ain’t been K-State whoop’in that Jayhawk azz all these years (series record 80-6-27 and 18 straight winning streak)
Crested I’m trying to remember that an OU fan has a significantly lower IQ than normal; maybe that’s part of the reason Riley left? Green lawns don’t mean plenty of rain. You’re a city slicker whose idea of irrigation is a golf course or a backyard, so I know it’s difficult to understand. I won’t go into the intricacies of subsoil moisture and runoff, but we’re in dire straights when it comes to lack of rain, just take my word for it. And keep cheering those championship caliber teams at OU, or team anyway — SOFTBALL!!!
That was WEAK. Subsoil moisture and runoff? Oh yeah, I forgot.....from that 2 yr. DROUGHT that you've been bellyaching about and the rains that others get but you never do? Keep running that private well of yours that is drying up the local aquifer.
Sorry, Pinocchio....I didn't buy your "poor me" thread then and I still don't.
Crested, you’re a doosie there little fella.Go to the movies or something you city people do for fun; not wasting anymore time on you. I’ll try to make my posts more entertaining on the drought thread just for you, for someone who claims I only post to myself, you sure are obsessed. Maybe I should be worried….. lol
OK genius….since I am so obsessed with your Drought thread why don’t you tell us all how many posts I have made on that thread since you started it in May? Then why don’t you tell us how many posts you’ve made?
I was on Bowsite a long, long time before you ever showed up here and I’ve seen your kind come and go. The kind that just can’t stand it if their thread is not at the top of the order each day. So they post some non-sense/drivel each day in attempt to keep themselves and their thread relevant. Once you count up how many posts you’ve made, you will realize that Drought thread has been mostly a conversation you’ve had with yourself and at best 1-2 others from time to time.
Now, I know country bumpkins like yourself can get lonely at times but instead of hassling the goats maybe there is some other way you could actually contribute to Bowsite other than the Drought or NCAAF thread…Hmmmm I don’t know maybe provide some content that actually has something to do with bowhunting? To be honest, I am not actually convinced that you’re even a bowhunter but more likely a lonely farmer that has found an outlet to discuss sports and how the weather has bent him over the table again, again and again.
I’ll be waiting for your report on how many “total” posts each of us has on the Drought thread to verify which one of us is (as you put it) “obsessed.”
Well unbeknownst to me, we have a jr high volleyball tournament to attend next weekend. So I gotta take a big hit on the tickets I bought. I can break even on the ticket valut. Its the fees that are the biggest hit to the wallet. $111.
Lot of teams in the nation would love to be setting at 3-0 Calhoun, especially with a win over a power conference team that looked pretty respectable against Penn State yesterday. Your sense of timing is quite curious. It’s a luxury to play horrible, get a big slice of humble pie, and still win the game. You’re comparing Kansas to Iowa State? Or did you forget to type State after Kansas???
Ah James I just like to get you going…you slightly amuse me sometimes. K-State is going to be just fine…Missouri looked pretty good. For that matter I think Kansas will be as well…even though I was busy watching Colorado by the score they must been flopping around out there. I mean did they actually say Nevada was on like a 11 game losing streak or something. Now I just hope y’all get it together before y’all travel to Austin cause I’ll sure be pulling for y’all then.
Matt the Lady Bears definitely deserve to be in the bottom 3:?) We’ll see how they do Saturday but it’s not looking good.
Hmmmm….very telling. Good thing the Big 12 Champion gets a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff staring in 2024. Might just need it for any chance at a Natty?
OU fan talking about a chance at a Natty? Huh?? Oh, we’re talking about softball again? I got ya, sorry!
Man, I can’t WAIT until OU is gone, riding on the coattails of all that Texas money. SEC sucks btw…. PAC 12 is the best conference this year and it’s not even close.
I don’t even know what you guys are talking about. Do you watch football? Who is good in the SEC besides a down Georgia team? Alabama has no quarterback. LSU is weak. Tennessee sucks. Oh I got it, you guys think Missouri is awesome! Who’s not very smart???? SEC has 5 teams in top 25 and they are dropping like flies, KSU should still be in the top 25 not Tennessee. Meanwhile, the PAC 12 has 8 on the rise. Again, who’s not very smart????
Yeah…that’s why Rattler is no longer at OU. He just wasn’t good enough to play at the expected level of QBU. However, lookie, lookie at who is currently considered “elite” and sitting at #1 QB in the Big 12. Sure ain’t Daniel’s or Bean, LOL!
Poor James. You’re so lost. You sound like a Jayhawks basketball fan that has nothing better to do than nag at winning football programs around the nation and hold yours in high regards. Get over yourself. Or, better yet, stop being the laughing stock of Kansas Bowsite threads.
OU fans are so adorable, they claim to hate Texas and then ride the Longhorn driven cart to the SEC. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out next year! Live out your mediocrity in that big bad conference. Lol
Your mighty PAC 12 has a total of 1 win over a ranked team so far. Nobody plays anybody early season anymore. Nonconference wins don't mean much. I think the Pac 12 is decent but we'll see what you're saying about it and how good it is compared to the top teams of the other 4 power conferences in a couple months. Maybe just stick to basketball. It'll be here soon enough.
Hearing rumblings that a lot of Okie State players are planning to quit the football team after this weekend’s game against Iowa State by entering the transfer portal when it opens up soon. It is even questionable that when they play K-state in two weeks that Okie St. will even be able to field 22 decent starters. I understand that it all has to do with NIL money… or the lack there of at Stoolwater. Sounds like Mike Gumby’s ship has SUNK!
That’s a tough one, my in-laws (OSU grads) have always liked him, but they are getting impatient. He has not adapted well to the new scene of college athletics obviously.
After last weekends horrible loss to Oregon….are they gonna have another against USC in Boulder? Will Caleb Williams carve them up? I will actually be rooting for CU in this one and it should be obvious why, LOL!
The only “lowly” team at this point is Iowa state. If OU “overlooks” them, or gets beat by them, they’re not ready. Texas is good, but an elusive QB and a hungry KU could upset UT. Gonna be a fun weekend.
I am not holding anything against JD6 for sitting out with back stiffness. I ended up taking a muscle relaxer for my back at halftime and slept the 4th quarter.
Leading up to that UT game, KU nation seemed like they had watched too many Deion Sanders pep talks all summer? Wouldn’t have mattered if you had JD or not….KU was gonna get creamed anyway. What’s the deal with that QB? He’s been hurt more than he has played. Just remember football is all about the Jimmies and the Joes and KU just doesn’t have enough of’em!
Too bad OU won’t be ranked in the top ten when KU beats them on the 28th, the streak will live on. Better give that defense a pep talk crested, at least the d-backs anyway. And you’re right KU “does have enough” Jimmy’s and Joe’s to beat OU, nice call! Your Boomers are gonna get rocked this weekend. Might be as bad as last year! Maybe Texas will decide to kick your team off their coattails after another shellacking. Lol
Wow, that wasn’t an impressive display by either state team. Yuck…
I have in-laws that went to OSU and KSU both, none of them are very happy here in the family room. But the cowboy fans are less disappointed at the half.
As I said earlier, there would be no joy in seeing Texas win, I’d rather them both lose. And it was the idiot coach for Texas that lost that game. Very glad OU will be likely undefeated when they come to Lawrence! It will make that win SO much sweeter.
Enough of an argument NOBODY cares about on the other thread. So, what happens this weekend? KSU start a losing streak — they aren’t favored in Lubbock? KU steal a victory in Stillwater? OSU any good or is KSU just that bad? BYU gets a first victory over a real Big 12 team? West Virginia stay undefeated in league play? ISU pull the “upset” at Cincinnati? Hoping desperately that OU is listening to the pundits and getting full of themselves this off week. They shouldn’t be too concerned about the lowly Hawks in a couple weeks….
Yeah, Holgerson might not have survived the season coaching if he had lost that home game last night…especially to a big 12 bottom dweller. Heard rumblings that if he had lost last night, he was most likely going to be fired.
Yep, OU is 6-0 going into a bye week which is especially nice right after you just beat your arch rival with a historic last minute drive and dagger to the heart with 15 seconds left in the game.
Well I guess the cowboys have the Kansas school’s ni bet this year. Game looked eerily familiar with turnovers and a late game score to win…. Stooopid mistakes.
LB Stutsman….your favorite players “favorite” player.
LB Stutsman….your favorite players “favorite” player.
Okla. bailing out 2 different conferences in 2023
Okla. bailing out 2 different conferences in 2023
OU “D” on point so far this year. Learning and executing BV’s defensive schemes having good results!
OU “D” on point so far this year. Learning and executing BV’s defensive schemes having good results!
KSQ….wish ya’ll would quit losing football games! Appears that everyone on OSU’s team had a carrier day against your KU “kids.” Say bye, bye to the Top 25 which is a bummer because that will hurt our strength of schedule when we play “unranked” KU in 2 weeks.
They’ll be back in the top 25 before it’s over. You got more to worry about than strength of schedule.
I’ll be hunting in Nebraska the 28th. Last time I was up there and had no reception, I found out KU beat Texas in Leipold’s first year when I got back home. I didn’t even bother to check the score on the way home the following Monday. Hoping for the same this year. Gonna be a tall order if Bean is still the guy, but I’ve got faith in the “kids”. They’re all kids crested; that’s why what they do on the field doesn’t make or break my day.
I already knew Sunflower could jet but it was good to see him spin the ball some as well. He just might be the answer to turn things around for the Cats.
Jalon Daniels is a talent but there seems to be a pattern with him. When it is time to play the top teams, he is hurt. Did it last year and again this year. Likes to pile up the numbers early then wuss out.
Yeah, Daniels is made of glass. Liepold just needs to go with Bean for the remainder of the season and ride out what is left of his Sr. season and give Daniels his transfer papers while seriously grooming one of the (5) other QB’s in waiting. If Daniels comes back to play now, he’s gonna be RUSTY!
Yeah he's weak. Hell everyone has a bad back, time to move on. KU might beat Cinci but after that they might not win another game. About like last year.
You guys are idiots, stooopid, and weak. How do you like that? Somebody who does not know you from Adam criticizing you. Nothing about Daniel’s playing quarterback his first year as a 17 YEAR OLD made me question his toughness. He takes on tacklers with abandon, to his own harm. Cherney, you’re just a state fan piling on, it is what it is, I do the same for state players. Same for crested; he’s just hoping Daniels isn’t back for the Boomers. But you West, a self-proclaimed coach, should know better. “Everyone has a bad back!” Just shut up; you’re the worst kind of sports fan. Oh, and KU plays Cincinnati last genius.
You’re the one calling a 225 lb collegiate athlete weak and made of glass. He’d truck you right through your living room wall, bad back and all. Heck, the “girl” (your words not mine) quarterback from state would light you up like a Roman candle and smoke your butt quicker than you could say boomer sooner.
This says it all about Jalon Daniels. I attached the full article.
The Rumors and the Transparency (Or Lack Thereof...) With the short notice of Daniels's availability this past weekend, rumors started circulating that Daniels was sitting out this game with intent to see what Lance Leipold would be doing over the next few weeks. Leipold's name has been mentioned in talks of who will be Michigan State's new head coach, and rumors said that Daniels would follow Leipold to Lansing if he takes the job. Others would speculate that Daniels is playing "soft" or that Daniels is being a prima donna. These rumors were somewhat dispelled by Kansas insiders such as Bryson Stricker and Mike Vernon, however, that doesn't mean it was all good news. Stricker would come out with a statement on October 2nd detailing what he knew regarding the situation. "A big problem I've had with the handling of JD's injury is the lies about his participation that came out. They (The Kansas football program) were acting as if JD was good to go at practice when he was hardly participating at all...I do have my own personal fears that it could linger for a short time or something similar to last time." Stricker explained. You can read the full statement below:
Brybry and Vernon are idiots who claim to be insiders, but they have no real information, ever. Vernon is the numbskull who said Remy and Self were on the outs a couple years ago when injury rumors were swirling— sound familiar? He also said KU was on the way to the Big Ten last year. It was “a lock!” Everything about Daniels is speculation, just like Remy two years ago.
I think JD be fak’in. Especially, when KU is scheduled to play a good or ranked team. He is soft plain and simple. Maybe KU needs to get a sports psychologist to sit down with him.
I believe that Bean will play against OU on 10/28 and in doing so could be KU’s best chance to win.
However, you watch JD will come back when they play the lower tier Big 12 teams that litter the back half of KU’s schedule.
I absolutely love how KU dominates this board. Football, basketball, it doesn’t matter, they’re all you fellas can think about. Love it! They lose you guys post, they win you guys post, they even get injured and you guys post. I think all of you are closet KU fans. Keep up the good work!
Leipold was out west visiting the Cure kid yesterday again. Kid has a ton of big-time offers and is a specimen. I believe State was one of the first to offer, right before KU. KU uses the tight end position constantly, look at Fairchild’s 2 TDs against OSU as a late example. I guess we’ll see what happens. Also on the recruiting front, Bogonowski (sp?) announces this Thursday and even with most saying OU, I’m still hoping for a KU hat to be donned. Also the kid in CA that recently decommitted from Oregon State is leaning KU and announces the same day. The kid is a stud, and maybe he’ll help soften the sting a little if Bogo goes to the turncoats south of the border.
Speaking of train wrecks Kyle, have you seen your team’s recruiting class? Is your coach too focused on Michigan State to hit the recruiting trail? Lol
Sometimes I go for Kansas football against certain teams but after reading Kyle’s link on the other thread it might be hard to do that in the future. Don’t like the basketball for sure but if the AD was tied in on the other stuff that’s not good. Lying about something while a man is sent to prison is pretty low.
A Baylor fan talking about a lying athletic department and prison. Now that’s rich and almost comical, if it weren’t so serious and ugly. Baylor athletics should have received the death penalty a decade ago. Murder, rape, and a massive cover up, that about right Calhoun?
One of KU’s top recruits, Deshawn Warner, continues to have the big dogs come after him. Will Leipold be able to keep him? The Okie State game made it clear he is needed; hopefully he isn’t swayed. I believe coach is scheduled to watch him a couple other recruits at Desert Edge Thursday evening; so, good timing with the bye week. We’ll see I guess.
Tell you the truth James back then I wasn’t too much into Baylor Basketball. All I heard I think was a player got shot by another player. If the coach was trying to cover that up he should have went to prison. I think they got the coach for paying some recruit though if I remember right and yes I would have been for harsher punishment for that as well.
Difference between me and you is I want to win by being fair and honest. You don’t seem to mind how you win. your excuse is always well look….other people is doing it too.
KSQ...it isn't that KU dominates this board. It is really more like we all are dominating YOU! If only there could be a Hot Pocket Bowl Game, I bet KU would play in it (when they were bowl eligible anyway) and you and your Mom would have 50 yd. line tickets.
Crested, personally I’m not into the domination thing, sorry. Go cheer on your school’s real team — softball. That’s the ONLY sport they win titles in anymore. I have an honest question for you, after your school follows their daddy Texas to the SEC, do you really think we’re gonna even respond to your silly posts about your has-been football program?
And Calhoun, I’m flattered that you think I’m impressive enough of an athlete to assume I laced it up on the court or field for KU, but I have never won or lost anything for the school. I’m a fan, not a participant.
You are sadly mistaken.....everyone but you obviously know that it is Texas that is riding OU's coattails and not the other way around. Since 2000, the series record between OU vs. TX is..... OU 17 UT 8 with alot of back-to back wins by OU with the most being five straight years 2000-2004. In most cases, UT's alumni witnessed on average only 1 victory over OU during their typical 4 yr. stint in college.
OU has (14) Big 12 football championships in 26 yrs. of league play and UT has only (3). If upon exiting the league we win this years title too, we will have won (15) in 27 yrs. Therefore, no matter what happens while OU was in this league they will have won more Big 12 football championships (14 or 15) than all other Big 12 schools "combined" (12). No other Big 12 team has more than (3) Big 12 football championships. Only OU and Baylor can claim back-to back Big 12 titles. However, Baylor only did it 2013-2014. OU has done it multiple times (3) straight 2006-2008 and (6) straight 2015-2020. Most other fan bases from other Big 12 schools can only imagine winning 1 big 12 title every decade or so and wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they won back-to back or even three or six straight?
Plain and simple, OU is the "Daddy" and dominates this league and in no way is riding anyone's coattails. The only reason that the SEC included Texas was due to their alumni size, geographical fit and tv ratings they would get from the state of Texas. It certainly wasn't because of all those championships that UT has been winning, LOL!
SEC wants the Texas money and viewers crested. That’s why you got the invite. You are right though, the SEC does value softball, so OU can bring a championship program to the conference. Nobody, including me who cheers for a basketball team that wrote the book when it comes to conference championships, actually cares about conference championships. If that’s what you’re shooting for, good on you for setting your sights so low. I promise you OU softball isn’t bragging about conference championships. Lol
KSQ….you will always respond because you are a narcissist…and a narcissist just can’t help it. It’s OK because I see through you.
OU and UT are the top 2 revenue producing members of the Big 12 that is why we both got the invite to the SEC. The revenue of the 4 recently added teams doesn’t even come close to what the Big 12 is losing when OU and Texas leave.
Glad you and others are proud of the OU softball Natty’s, we are too. Proud of the women’s gymnastics team with their 6th Natty (two in a row, three of the last four and six of the last nine), Men’s gymnastics team with 4 in a row recently and finally the men’s baseball team that played for it last year.
We think BV has the OU football team headed in the right direction…..recruiting is sure taking off better than it ever was during the Riley years. So, we’ll see where this year takes OU.
Saw OU landed Boganowski crested. Kid is a stud and has a great family. I was hoping against hope he’d sign with KU. The sting was softened a little by Abajian out of CA committing to the Hawks today.
Don’t be paranoid Calhoun! Speaking of legit, how do you like this no-call?? Never said anything about it over here; KU should have mopped the field with the Cowboys, it never should have been close enough for this call to matter.
Jalon Who?????? I bet he plays next week after KU got the big win. If he doesn't I imagine the rumors of transferring to USC are true. Bean didn't play well but he came up with a big play when it counted. Got to admire his grit and toughness. You can see the team respects him.
As much as I wanted a win, I also want and like the chances coach takes. My only complaint against Snyder was that he never went for anything but Taco Bell.
This team respects Bean and are playing hard. Daniels is a forgotten man. They have moved on. KSQ I am curious as to if you still believe Daniels is hurt, especially since he didn't travel with the team this week for the short trip?
Yes, he’s hurt “coach” and will be having surgery following the season. You’re a piece of work you know it?Good grief, you’re either obsessed or have nothing better to do with your time than bag on a stud KU quarterback. You retired from your “illustrious” career or something? And yes, I’m very glad Bean is gaining some confidence by winning a few games. The future is bright! Rock Chalk!
JD6 will be playing his last year of college ball at KU. If he can remain healthy, a big if, granted. But if he does stay healthy, he will be drafted.
You can insult me all you want I don’t care, leave JD alone. I feel horrible for the young man. He didn’t have to stick around when Les was booted, but he did. He played as a 17 year old against grown men, and he helped KU get a win that first season against Texas that began to set the tone that things were changing. And all you can do ridicule; you say you’re a coach, I don’t believe it. I’m done with this subject, you can attempt to bait me some more, but it won’t work.
If Daniel’s currently has a season ending injury…….then why wait until the end of the season to have surgery? Best to get on with it and get on with recovery.
I have said it before, and I’ll say it again……the dude is transferring!
Don't matter.....the kid can't hold up. If he really does come back (and I still think he transfers), by 3rd game next year he'll be out for the season again.
I’m a KSU grad. It’s not a big deal to me. Hope they win, but I won’t know till I read about it in the news paper tmw. There’s many more important things than college football.
He’s doing it because the writing is on the wall. There’s a freshman 5-star QB chomping at the bit to play. My bet is Oregon will land DG or he will follow the old OC to Mississippi State. He’s a smart kid and he was a nice serviceable QB for us. Good, yes, but not great. Wish him well.
Yep…..new 5 star “freshman” sheriff in town. World will be formally introduced to him in the upcoming Alamo Bowl instead of seeing him play mop up duty.
Unlike the KU kid, JA will play consistently for atleast the next 3 yrs….won’t be sitting in the training room for 2 yrs nursing a fake injury. Doubt the KU kid even plays in whatever bowl game that KU plays in this year (like most years did they even make a bowl game)? Well if they did, I am sure it will have about the same significance as KU’s spring game.
Just talked to my buddy which is a longhorn fan and he said they made it in. How in the hell did that happen since the big 12 seemed really messed up this year. He told me the committee said the big 12 was the most consistent conference this year.
That’s just plain laughable. That don’t even make no sense…this is the worst I’ve seen the conference as far being consistent.
Take a look at Texas. Got very very lucky to beat Kstate…beat them only by the Cats not only missing a short field goal but a missed extra point.
Beat Lowly Houston cause of paid Refs.
Squeaked by TCU which the frogs was all over the place.
Get beat by nobody Oklahoma:?) but for real I hope they whooped up on. They definitely have the talent to win it all but they don’t deserve to be there by their play throughout the season.
Yep...Big 12 refs made sure there wasn't an OU vs. Texas Big 12 CCG this year based on the horrible "no call" pass interference in the endzone at the end of Bedlam. Texas definitely lucked out by getting Okie St. in CCG. Beat them aggies like a rented mule! Wouldn't have been the case if Texas had to face OU again in that game...we would have beat'em like we always do.
OU fans are adorable, yeah that DG qb was just “ok” — lol, that’s not what you were saying a while back crested, remember that?? I never asked you how Lawrence treated you, did you stay for the whole game?? So looking forward to not have to hear about your sorry team next year. KU owns you in football now too; good thing your running away! Have fun living in mediocrity in the SEC. Btw, the SEC is weaker than the Big 12 top to bottom; so you should be able to get bow eligible at least; but your team will never compete for the top of the conference. Have fun being Alabama, LSU, and Georgia’s whipping boy! Heck, OU will have a hard time beating Miss St! They’re better than KU surely! This is too much fun…
Be still, Texas beat the kittens with a 12 string quarterback… KU should have beaten the kittens with their 15th string walk-on, true freshman qb. Life is NOT good in Manhattan right now….
Who’s gonna have the better qb and record next year??? Big 10 Oregon or SEC Oklahoma? I think DG made his opinion known. Meanwhile, JD6 thinks KU will have a better qb and record than both; and he’s the one who is right. ;-)
Life is always good in Manhattan James cause they put honor and integrity in life first before the scoreboard. A little secret some colleges haven’t figured out yet.
OU lost a big kid, literally… True freshman OL that played a LOT this year — freshman all American. Wonder if he’s going to Texas? Speculation is someone tampered with and offered him the moon…. That SEC money hard at work! Lol
On a not-so-funny note, I’m awaiting the day Kobee Bryant makes the same announcement. :-(
I don't know if KU has played really well or if UNLV is just terrible, but KU looks like a bunch of thugs out there with these unsportsmanlike penalties. I would imagine coach will give them an ass chewing at half time for the dumb and dirty plays.
KU's receivers are better than what the Chiefs have right now. They have a good program going and have a good recruiting class coming in. They have some tranfers coming in and didn't loose much to the portal. Daniels, Neal, and Arnold are coming back as of now.
Kstate will be a better team next year. Those transfers could see their playing time being taken from the younger players. Especially at QB. Johnson is really good and should have player over Howard this year.
It’s all about the trenches, when a team loses the majority of its offensive lineman (seniors, not portal losses) including a stud like Beebe, that’s hard to replace. I don’t think State will be as good next year. But I’ve been wrong many times before.
‘09-‘22 to be exact…. Rough, rough years as a KU football fan. You staters with your Prince years have no idea. Some of you might remember the dark years of State, the worst program in college football; my memories are much more recent and vivid tho.
He was the better athlete, but they probably wanted to bring him along slowly. I'm sure the coaches told Howard he wouldn't be the starter next year. But old JD will build up some stats in the first 4 games next year for KU and then be out with a hang nail for the remainder. At least that is what history says. If he wants any chance of playing in the NFL he better find a way to keep himself on the field.
Johnson has a lot of work to do with that arm before he’s a consistently good qb. I’d take Bean over him now in a heartbeat; of course I realize Bean is a senior and it’s not a fair comparison. We’ll see who has the better season next year…. My money is on JD over AJ. KU has a stud coming into town next month too, in ‘25 there will be a new Marshall in town. :)
Umm, Marshall will redshirt next year likely. Next year is looking VERY nice; can’t wait!! Maybe the cats won’t luck in to playing a 3rd string, true freshman, former walk-on next year?? Of course, if coach is right (he always is of course…), JD will have already played his limit of 3 games by the time the Sunflower Showdown rolls around.
Listening to the Michigan radio broadcast right now. SO nice to listen to the national championship game and not hear one single statement about the SEC. Love it!!
Never said I like Michigan… first radio broadcast I could find, and their crew isn’t obnoxious. If you really want to know I’d rather see Washington win it; since Cherney and Coach said I was dumb for saying the PAC 12 was better than the SEC a couple months ago.
Kyle, I’m curious what you’re gonna use as firepower when KU begins to dominate the gridiron over the kittens? LL is your kinda guy, if he was dressed in purple you’d absolutely love him. The speed at which he has turned around the KU program is nothing short of astounding. Even Snyder’s first 3 years, as impressive as they were, cannot compare.
It’s coming Kyle; not too hard to predict. KU should have won this year with a walk-on qb, they outplayed the kittens. KU is already winning the recruiting battle. Just a short matter of time…
Btw, you never said much about your qb Goldilocks wearing a sports bra. :-)
They could possibly win a game against us in the next 14yrs, but doubtful. No matter what happens it's a dirty program, yes the whole KU athletic program, the entire nation knows this...and all the money in the world can't buy back your integrity.
