I got a nice one down in Greenwich a few dozen years ago and caught some fingerlings as well; I hear they’re doing well up here as the water warms.

Great sportfish down South (specks/speckled trout) and good eating. Just mind any slot limits.

In reply, Dank - was using a squid strip on a two hook blackfish rig - circle hooks, had limited out on the blackfish and was attempting to catch Black Sea Bass. Big Dog - Great to eat, my wife did a great job cooking it and she also really enjoyed it. Not me - I did not weigh it, but it was 30 inches long ? I would like to get an estimate on its weight. Corax - In Connecticut open all year - limit 1 fish over 16 inch Steve - Thanks, I spent a great deal of time fishing Fluke, Stripers, Bluefish, Blackfish and Black Sea Bass and have seen very few Weakfish over the years.

Looks like you need to be around around 34”-35” to get into a #17 trout or Walleye, with 30” closer to #10, so unlikely that any record-book entries were consumed here; no harm done!

I’m just looking forward to figuring out how to get in front of them on a flyrod :D

I’ve never caught one but they’ve been growing in population in the Sound. Nice Tide runners Deerstalker and Silverado.

That tuna is awesome. They must fight like crazy. A 12 lb bluefish will wear you out.
