Got lucky on my first hunt of the year, she came by at 8:30 and gave me a broadside shot at 13 yards.Only went 30 yards, lung and heart.

Went out this morning and sat till 9:30,got down and checked my cam.I was closing up the cam when I sensed something,I turned and there's a doe at 15 yards eating acorns.I have my back to the deer and my bow is at my feet.I have to turn my head to see her, she looks my way but I'm frozen so she goes back to feeding.Finally she looks away and I quickly pick up my bow and nock an arrow.I look back and she's still there,after a long while her head goes behind a tree and I turn and draw.Hit both lungs and liver but she went 110 yar

I only have one deer so far. The daytime movement at my spots has been terrible. I can only think that it's the abundance of acorns this year. I did shoot one buck the first week of muzzleloader.
