Seeing Steve's recent buck tipping the scales at over 190 is an awesome thing. There's something about a deer that size that gets me excited. I've taken 3 in my many years of chasing whitetails that went over 190. Two were just over 200 at 201 and 207. The one at 201 was a bow kill in CT and the one at 207 was a rifle kill in New Brunswick. When I took the buck that went 201, my father had to remind me that he still had the family record with a 227 lb field dressed buck taken many years ago with a rifle in NH. The photo is of my dad (who is now 96) with that NH buck. Again, Congrats to Steve on taking a real trophy! y father

Photo is of me and my cousin Frank with a buck he took on Green Mountain in NH that had a dressed weight of 218. We dragged that deer from late morning until after dark to get it off the mountain, down to a road. We thought for sure that we had a winner for the local big buck contest but found out when we checked it in that someone else had just checked in one that went over 230! Frank passed away several years ago. I do miss hunting with him.

Thats awesome. I’ve never had one field dress over 200lbs. Still waiting for that one. Had several that were 185-195lbs. Fun drags for sure!

Awesome pictures gene the one of your father was when men were men unlike today. I got gas this morning and the guy at the counter had black painted nails! We need a serious change.

I shot a 9pt that dressed just over 200....the drag out wasn't far, maybe 500 yards, but I could only go 10 feet then had to stop for a few. It sucked to say the least. I like the 120-140 pound class lol

My biggest. My first. A long time ago. 195lbs field dressed. I would love to shoot one 200lbs or more….I don’t care about the rack size. Just would love one with a huge body.

My heaviest is 229.8 lbs. mass archery deer. 146” 8 point. My uncle a couple years ago some may have seen the thread on the mass page shot a 156 3/8” 8 point that dressed 200, and my old man has a 135” 8 on the wall that dressed 225.

Nice Pics. Big bodied deer that look like tanks are very cool, cooler than big racks in my opinion.
