Buck's range...

What is a bucks range during the rut? I ask because a 2.5 yr old was killed by automobile about 7 miles from where I believe I had pics of him on my property.
Does that seem a ways to go when looking for doe? scentman

Every buck is different. Some just go for a cruise looking for better action. Generally buck home range is about 2-3 sq miles. But there's lots of reports of bucks being 10-15 miles away during the rut, or during bad winters where they keep moving trying to find food. They are amazing animals as many will return to their home range eventually - if they are not dead.
