Dead buck

On my walk into the stand tonight I noticed a buck just off the trail. I nocked an arrow on the recurve as I approached. As I got closer, I noticed the arrow was not needed.
We had seen this buck all year and as the rut approached we noticed that he was broke up.
Three nights ago we noticed that he looked real skinny, sickly.
When I inspected him, no visible signs of arrow/gun wounds or car impacts. He was skinny and his spine was very visible.
Plenty of food as this is in the heart of ag land. Going to get him tested for CWD.
Sad as I had high hopes for him in a couple years.

He was dead just a short time. When I moved him, his legs and joints were flexible

Keep us posted on the test results, very rare to find a deer dead of CWD out in the woods.

No noticeable wounds or injuries? Will be interested to hear results from testing, as MJF said, it is unusual to find a deer dead from CWD.
