This is a few days ago.

I think they're onto us... Delayed onset mating .

I found a fresh rub with shavings on top of the leaves and ice

Yep it's another late year. A few years back this happened. According to here and CT forum they were holding for a long time .

I checked a sure bet spot a few times already but only fresh shiny turds to show for it.

Put two miles on today in the thick stuff. Found 50-60 rubs - all small - no shed antlers. Did jump a few deer.

I've been out a few times, none found yet. Some friends have found several so far.

Nope. I drive by there every day and look every day so it hasn't been there too long

Coug that big matching set is a he'll of a find. Unbelievable in fact. But may as well through that latest one out the window. Unless your gonna make a knife handle it doesn't count.

From: Cougar
26-Feb-24
Haha the smaller ones count more... harder to see! And easy to stash in a pocket so my 5 yr old can find one on her own

I’ve been putting in the miles in search of sheds with zero success. In fact I’m still seeing active scrapes and not very old rubs. I think it’s a bit early still in my area but curious if a mild winter and good food sources has any impact on when they shed.

Fisher' you may have a goat in those woods.

From: fisherick
28-Feb-24
Not anymore. Found these with partial skull while scouting some woods about a mile from a goat/sheep farm. Must have escaped the farm and coyotes had a meal.

Only sheds I found this spring. The rare Mass mountain goat species.

Went out for a stroll in a swamp yesterday, got into some thick wet stuff, took one step and in I went! Right leg all the way in and left leg about halfway before I was able to spin and grab some solid ground luckily. My right foot never touched bottom, could have been a real mess if I wasn't going so slow! Of course no sheds

Coon. Should have been nonchalant about it. "Ya found this one today. Pretty unique. It's a keeper " we would have gone out of our mindz !

I found a dead head and a chewed up forky. In November or October I found a real nice antler in the woods absolutely pristine. No blood on it but not one chew mark and many squirrels all around. No whitening at all. It didn’t seem fresh but maybe dropped in March-April I guess

Saw a buck in a field with full set of antlers while driving in NH over the weekend

I've said it many times. If shooting a BIG buck is harder than a spike or similar sized deer... With sheds it's the opposite. You can see half a 170 inch rack WAY easier than a spike, and even if there are only 5 deer that big in MA, I bet it's still easier to find one of those than a little 3 inch spike.

No luck here

I found a shed on the way to work this morning… except it was in the middle of 440 and appears to have fallen from a flat bed that was bringing multiple somewhere for delivery I’m assuming. Lot of scattered lumber when they hit the ground and roll at 70 MPH.

From: Notime2fish

Got my steps in today. No sheds but covered in ticks. Most I’ve seen in a long time.

From: Jebediah

Same here on the steps, but no ticks thankfully. Also struck out on sheds, as usual.

From: Pi

Dfa. That's gotta be at least 8 inches. You know ?
