Nice Pete !! How much does the stove weigh? Do you backpack it in or drive to a base camp

Stove is little over four pounds including the chimney. Tent with pole and stakes is 2.5 pounds. This is for hiking into the mountains and staying there. We will have to climb 2500 feet and go in a few miles for bear. Split between two of us, this weight is more than manageable.

Pete. Serious about switching trips this year. I can put you on the biggest bonefish of your life and shoot pigs and mountain goats out here. All you gotta do is spend some time in the woods with me at your state. Could even do an axis deer hunt on another island if you want to. Let’s work out the details. I am super jealous of the crap you get to go. It looks fantastic

Ok but you still Have to come Out here. Airfare isn’t that bad and we know enough people we can make the stay here affordable. We will talk in the next month or so. Really want to do some elk out there for a few days with you

Non residents can only pack elk meat ;)

Pete, What brand stove did you go with?

My daughter works for a company called Liberty Mountain. They are a whosaler of many outdoor brands but they have their own line call Peregrin. Their stove is awesome. All but the top is hinged. And it uses simple clips that are riveted on to lock it all together. No bolts and wingnuts to lose. We will be testing out on a hike tomorrow.

Pete that’s awesome!

Got that right, MaPa! Then maybe Idaho too since they have inexpensive bear tags and you can buy two.

We have fire. Ya, this is not going to suck. Won't have to bring a cooking stove. Looks like we can cook on top of this thing. That offsets a little weight.

Looks terrible Pete. Where’s the AC!?

Next phase. Food. I've been dehydrating my own stuff for backcountry camping for about a year now. Decided to try canned cream of mushroom.

Success. A full 10.5 oz can weighs in at 1.5 oz with packaging. Rehydrated prefetly.
