The 2024 Idaho elk season tags will soon be on sale. If your looking for a good place to hunt, don't overlook Idaho units 66 south, 66A, and 76 north. These areas are filled with hidden natural springs fed by Palisades Reservoir. Just above Grays Lake Wildlife Refuge (unit 66) is a hotspot producing cows and 6x bulls. Idaho unit 66A between roads 087 and the Monte Cristo Mine has several hidden natural springs producing cows and 6x bulls. Idaho unit 76 in the Diamond Flat area holds several natural springs where cows and 6x bulls are taken. Elk love the hidden natural springs in these areas away from the road and trail hunters. For the game cart users; carts can be used to haul game out.
