Does that mean there are no radical Islamists left in the world? No. Does that mean they won't try again? No. Does that mean we can stop being vigilant and should stop taking the fight to them? No.
It also doesn't mean that they are a threat to overthrow our laws and institute theirs. A handful of attacks from lone wolf style attackers each year is not something to lose sleep over. Our institutions aren't under any serious threat. Your health and safety is more threatened by falling TVs than by radical Islam (look it up).

There were a few more attacks by Islamic Extremists than by non islamic american citizens. If you pull out 9/11 and OKC, the non Islamic american citizens created a higher death toll than the Islamists. The article makes it clear that BOTH groups are legit threats to our security... But certainly presents data that suggests we have just about as much to worry about from locals as we do Islamists.

I'm with you, there is a clear danger there, that article clearly describes that given the stat's show how close those groups come. Heck, you could say it's more alarming since the home grown stuff had multiple sources, while the non home grown attacks were largely Islamic groups. My interpretation of the data there, is that if we laser focus on extreme Islam, we are going to miss a lot of dangerous folks percolating here.

Regardless, when at my Mother in Law's in St. Paul it was (she just moved to Lake Shore) very clear the rate of Somali refugee's that were being brought in. Those forecasts of Muslim population growth are so fraught with ridiculous assumptions it’s not even funny. For a balanced, reasonable analysis, look at the Pew Center’s work (some of which is summarized in the attached Guardian link). You’ll see that there’s no country in Western Europe expected to have a Muslim population of over 11% of the total in the next dozen years. History has shown that these individuals will start looking more European, not vice versa.
Play games, make fun. The people being killed by knives, trucks, bombs as well as assaulted and raped in European countries may not find it so funny. If you were to have a Jewish bakery for instance in Europe..... guess you must sleep well at night.....

I visited London about a week after the Burrough market attack and before we left I can’t tell you how many times I heard “you’re actually going to go?” I was having dinner with a friend in Edinburgh and I relayed this to him and he was basically shocked that it was getting so much attention and publicity stateside.
I think the best analogue for how they treat iterror events is basically how we treat mass shootings. We’re all saddened and outraged, but beyond prompting some folks to get their concealed carry permit, for the most part folks go right back to living with nothing changing and few lingering fears. We go right back in movie theaters and to concerts and hardly give a second thought to becoming the next victim of a mass shooter (which, in my opinion, is the appropriate response). This is how the bulk of the Europeans I’ve talked to respond to Islamist terror.
Maybe it’s because they do have higher Muslim populations over there and they recognize that 99.99999% of them are peaceful citizens, just like we view 99.99999% of white males as responsible citizens and we don’t get too worked up when a crazy one does something terrible.
