Syrian state TV and witnesses said late Sunday that airstrikes had hit a military airport near the city of Homs shortly after a suspected chemical attack that killed at least 40 people in a suburb of the capital city, Damascus, over the weekend.

Thanks O-Baby! Douche....

The president also warned Russia and Iran that there would be a "big price to pay" for backing the Assad regime and slammed former President Barack Obama, who vowed in 2012 that such actions would cross a “red line,” but later failed to enforce the promise a year later when hundreds of Syrians were killed by sarin gas. Instead, Obama brokered a multi-nation deal in which Assad pledged to remove his chemical-weapons stockpile.

Funny how the Democraps used to support actions like this when their team was in charge. Now they whine....

Have you Trumpettes defended him announcing withdrawal? Have time lines even been published as when Obama was being Traitorous?

All the problems we face today are a direct result of obama's stupidity.

I'd like to see the same thing happen to Assad that happened to Khadafy. Maybe we should put some VX on them and see how they like it.

Trump made an announcement of an early exit from syria last week. Or did you miss that? He’s the president now. Focus on that, if you’re capable.

10-Apr-18
that's no kidding.....Russian or Syrian doesn't look good. That place is a horrible mess. we should leave and stay out as much as possible. There are a at least 1/2 dozen factions involved in the fighting there. All of them would gladly kill us.

US President Donald Trump tweets: "Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!"

From: BowSniper
11-Apr-18
Russia said they would shoot down our missiles as well as the sources of the missiles. This could get very interesting, and FAST.

Sounds like a good test to see who has better equipment, missiles vs anti missile tech. Someone is going to underperform, and it could shift the balance of power in that region. Hopefully our tech wins once again and gives Putin reason to pause and reassess.

Just imagine, if Obama had backed up the red line he put in place we wouldn't be dealing with Russia so deeply entrenched in Syria today. Obama failing to act on Syria as well as letting Putin have Crimea has emboldened the Russians......not to mention the Iranians. Time to reaffirm the American military dominance so things can settle down a bit.

From: BowSniper
11-Apr-18
Sureshot x2. It looks like it's got to get worse before it gets better. And that might require a little back and forth live-fire with the Russians to reaffirm whose gear trump's whose..... (No pun intended)

11-Apr-18
Wasn’t trump complaining that the US shouldn’t broadcast its military moves publicly? I guess he didn’t mean twitter.

And leaving Syria? Remember what leaving Iraq created? ISIS. There is no easy answer here. But when you have a president that isn’t a student of history or diplomacy, you’re going to get simplistic pseudo solutions.

It doesn't seem that Trump is in over his head at all. Obama blinked and both the Russians and Iranians moved into Syria and undercut US influence in region. An Obama trifecta of failure losing out to Syria, Russia, and Iran.

Trump didn't blink at all. He successfully pulled off a cruise missile strike after seeing the first chemical attack. Without even interrupting his dinner with China's Xi. And now, with Russia directly saying they would stop us, Trump said go ahead and try with a new strike coming (I would guess 7-8pm tonight eastern time)

This sets the stage for how our forces compare to Russian and Iranian forces, and will weigh heavily on whether Assad stays in power, NK nuke talks, the south China sea, Iranian nuke deal, Russias hold on Crimea, etc.

I think Mattis knows what's at stake, and needs to demonstrate what we can do vs their ability to stop us. Downside is that we have some 2000 troops in eastern Syria in a rather vulnerable position.

11-Apr-18
If would be good if whatever we do it is done with the endorsement and cooperation of other nations. I cannot think of a time or a place that is more like the beginning of WWI than now in Syria. Nobody wanted a war then....yet we got one. It's a pit of vipers over there.....all of whom would gladly slit our throats......the Russkies most of all.

From: BowSniper
11-Apr-18
I think Ron Paul is a little on the nutty side. And to that point, a greater Syrian war only helps Trump when the media pressure is hounding him.

However, it could still be a ploy to pull allies into the war. The anti-Assad rebels might have done this themselves to get us to destroy Assad for them. I mean, Chlorine gas is not very sophisticated stuff. Not as much as if it were Sarin or some other military grade nerve agent.

11-Apr-18
Trump called out Obama for tipping his hand in Syria. Now he's doing the same thing.

In Sept 2013 Trump told Obama to stay out of Syria.

Remember this?

US has no evidence of Syrian use of sarin gas, Mattis says February 2, 2018 “We have other reports from the battlefield from people who claim it’s been used,” Mattis told reporters at the Pentagon. “We do not have evidence of it.”

There are plenty of liberals in congress pushing for Trump to strike Syria. I am curious why this is??

From: BowSniper
11-Apr-18
Atheist -the difference is that Obama was tipping his hand about running away and thus he created ISIS in Iraq. Here, Trump is telling Putin he is not afraid of him (like Obama was) and daring Russia to try and stop us from slapping his boy Assad.

That's not to say who did this most recent chemical attack. I don't know and have my doubts. But in about 4 hours the two toughest kids on the block are going to square up and establish a global pecking order.

8 years of weakness has pushed us way past that now, and a challenge has been levied and accepted. The superpower card was played....

11-Apr-18
Key word, here...Obama!

If France joins a strike, it could launch its Rafale warplanes from French soil and use aerial refueling to get them to the target region.

This was the preferred course of action chosen by France's then president Francois Hollande in August 2013, after chemical attacks in Ghouta left more than 1,400 people dead.

But ultimately, Barack Obama famously declined to launch an operation in Syria, forcing Paris to stand down even though it had a half dozen Rafales ready at the Saint-Dizier air base in eastern France.

Another possibility is launching strikes from a multi-mission frigate equipped with cruise missiles. A French military official said France permanently has such a ship in the eastern Mediterranean.

Hmmmm, I am rather surprised we didn't blow something in Syria up last night. And today Trump is almost walking it back a bit, maybe yes -maybe no. We shall see.

Unless someone proves this chemical attack was not done by Syria, I would be shocked if we didn't launch a sizeable retaliatory attack by Sunday.

Putin will back down. Trump is crazy, like a fox. The Russian economy stinks and he knows our military is superior. Russian people are tired of war like we are but again, Trump is crazier as far as they are concerned. If this country goes liberal, we will see war as that signals to Putin we have lost our nerve. Now tear me apart, but remember this post.

Spike - moving bodies around to make more heartfelt photos doesn't explain how they died in the first place. The question is siimply who released the chemical agents that killed them. Macron says France has proof it was Assad.

Trump is like a squirrel in traffic. Darting this way, then that way and you trumpettes cheer it on as if it’s calculated. He INEPT. Nothing in his past proves he has a bit of leadership quality. Nothing in his present proves he listens to advisors. He spouts off on twitter about “here they come, new and smart”. What the hell is that gibberish. Russians were first ones in after the chemical attack and claimed it never happened at all. Today the Russians are saying they have irrefutable proof that a foreign spec ops team deployed the Chem weapon. To me, that conflicting position points to the guilty party.

Still need to get people we trust in there to identify the toxins. There remains a slim chance the rebels are trying to bait us into the fight. BUT If anything more than chlorine gas then likely the Syrian government. If witness testimony concludes it was dropped from a chopper or plane, then definitely the Syrian gov't..... and we begin the ass kicking. Remind the Russians, Chinese, Iranians, and North Koreans once again who is the lone global Superpower.
