I didn't like the part in Russian response saying it was an "insult" to their President. When people take stuff personally, they do stupid things.
Russian response might be to go after the rebels we support in the zone of Syria we control. Daring us to actually shoot down Russian jets and kill Russians. And Mattis will do it if pushed.... after fair warning. PaulyZ says obama bombed Syria the same way PZ ran the Marine Corps crucible. Lol

... for the record, I think that was the only combat experience for the F-111 Aircraft. I remember that Reagon had to get permission to fly over Turkey.

With that F111 strike, it was that France would not let us use our jets stationed there or fly over... so we used British based F111's and had to fly waaaaaay around with multiple refueling to get to Libya.
Famously, one of the F111 bombs missed it's target and hit a French building (embassy?)
It was the F111 that flew the mission. I wasn't aware they flew over Turkey, I know France wouldn't allow overflight in their air space. I just assumed they went through Spain.

List of countries Obama bombed: Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, and SYRIA. The airstrikes were carried out with both drones and manned aircraft. This is indisputable. This is not up for debate. And when obama bombed Syria there was calls from the GOP to impeach because he didn’t get Congressional approval.

However! Obama ordered drone airstrikes on Syria in 2014 as part of a military campaign against ISIS, and for retaliation for using chemical weapons.
Further Trump called out Obama for bombing Syria. Said it was a terrible decision. So which is it? Was trump right then or now?

It’s obvious we (Obama administration) shouldn’t have believed Russia when they said all chemical weapons were removed. Or at the very least maybe we should have at the time required there making more was removed.

Both Russia and Syria, however, was forewarned of the attacks, and evacuated the facilities, sufferng very little damage and the White House pats itself on the back.
