"President Trump is presiding over an economy that is soaring; according to the Congressional Budget Office’s budget and economic outlook, real Gross Domestic Product will grow by 3.3% from the fourth quarter of 2017 to the fourth quarter of 2018. That would be the highest level of growth in 15 years."

Yes we know the economy under President Trump is doing well. There was no question it would as soon as we knew he was elected, and it's only going to get better.

But liberals and other assorted America haters are terrified for what else winning may bring. Can you imagine if we end up with a new trade deal with China that would obviously greatly benefit this country? Can you imagine if we end up with a new NAFTA that would greatly benefit this country over the old deal? Can you imagine if we end up with a new TPP that would greatly benefit this country over the old deal? Can you imagine if we end up with a more peaceful situation in Korea than we have ever had in modern times with NK completely de-nuclearized? This is far from done of course, but THIS is what President Trump is working on. Something past presidents since Reagan were unable to even comprehend. It won't all get done, but many great things coming from this administration in the next 7 years. Thank you President Trump!

Interestingly, the same CBO report also projects the federal debt will grow to a staggering 100% of GDP by 2028, based on current law.

It also projects that GDP growth will slow to around 2% by 2020.

Matt

From: Trax
24-Apr-18
Yes, a projection. We shall see! I'll be the first to admit the CBO is a poor indicator of what will come, but more neutral than the many sites that show it rosy as of right now. Many of them also project things to only get better. Deals to come will have much to do with that. Now meanwhile liberals will pray (if they had a God to pray to) that President Trump does not accomplish positives with NK or with economic deals benefiting the USA!

24-Apr-18
Um Change in deficit, as a % of GDP, since 1977 Bush 43 +4.7% Trump +1.8% Reagan +0.5% Bush 41 +0.4% Obama -0.1% Carter -0.4% Clinton -5%

According to the CBO

From: Mint
24-Apr-18
From the summary Real GDP (that is, GDP adjusted to remove the effects of inflation) and real potential GDP are now projected to be greater throughout the coming decade than projected last June, in part because of the significant recent changes in fiscal policy. Also, interest rates are projected to be higher and the unemployment rate lower in the next few years than CBO projected previously. Even if federal laws did generally remain in place, budgetary and economic outcomes would be difficult to predict and thus uncertain. CBO’s projections, especially its economic projections, are even more uncertain than usual this year, because they incorporate estimates of the economic effects of the recent changes in fiscal policy— and those estimates are themselves uncertain. CBO aims to formulate projections that fall in the middle of the distribution of possible outcomes.

Paul Zeidan once again proves he's both a liar and a moron. Slick WIlly did not balance the budget. Newt Gingrich and a conservative charge did. Shrub with a weak 2nd term handed it over to Reid and Pelosi. OBOZO the America hating race pimp ran the country into the ground and added how much debt compared to all the other presidents combined? President Trump has a lot of work to do after 12 years of liberalism and more so the 8 years of tragedy that was OBOZO the America hating race pimp but he's leading the charge with great results! We have not seen our high for gas prices this year, although I do not believe we will see the $100 oil some are talking about. I expect oil to fluctuate between where we are right now and 80, a pretty stable year. Nat gas prices could stand to rise, and sooner than later they will. The stock market over time will do just fine, the worry there the blue sky that has existed for some time now. This is not what the liberals are frantic about. They are afraid that Trump will make gains with China, in Korea, with Iran, with economic agreements like TPP and NAFTA. He is already in the process of creating an environment where business and capitalism can thrive, prosper and grow. Liberals can't afford anymore winning! Not with elections coming!

I don't think any of us is surprised that the tax cuts stimulated the economy and I don't think anyone is surprised that the enormous spending added to the deficit. Hopefully we will get spending under control by next year and try to get a balanced budget. The waste on the Fed, State and local level is just staggering and so is the fraud.

But an indirect point to this thread is to point out how scared the stinking left is of President Trump. What they’re scared of is that he will succeed at economic prosperity for this country, better deals with NAFTA and TPP, better trade deals with China and others, and God forbid a deal to denuclearize North Korea. Liberals have no interest in strength and prosperity for this country, but what they’re really afraid of is President Trump achieving it. Count on it!

25-Apr-18
The economy was steadily improving under Obama. Fact.

TPP is actual leverage to be used in negotiating w China.

Know why Iran has stopped nuclear progress? The Iran Deal works!

And if you believe NK will denuclearize; i have some oceanfront property in Phoenix to sell you.

Trump has made over 2500 misleading claims/lies since taking office. If that doesn’t upset you, you have no right to call anyone out on lies.

I’ve disagreed w many presidents. Obama included. But past presidents honored their role and the position of POTUS. Trump has attempted to discredit the courts, the law enforcement and intelligence agencies , Congress and the DOJ. Basically discrediting anyone that can provide a check on his power. His claim to want to ‘drain the swamp? Between Pruitt, Carson, Zinke , Ronny Jackson and now Mulvaney, he’s put together the most corrupt administration in recent history. I can’t excuse that and look away. I love America too much to ignore what he’s doing to our nation. Just look how he’s dividing this nation. He’s got the lowest approval rating, he’s governing to his base and nothing more.

Speaking of his base: How many promises has he broken. The wall paid for by Mexico? Nope Better Healthcare for everyone? Nope Draining the swamp? Nope. Bringing coal jobs back? Nope. He promised no more State Dinners. He had one last night. He promised to reduce the debt. It’ll top 21 Trillion for the first time EVER. He promised to show his taxes. Nope. He promised to produce Obama’s birth certificate and proof he’s Kenyan. Nope. He promised to pulllour troops out of the MidEast. Nope. He claims he’s a deal maker but count how many people he’s stiffed or conned.

Sorry. I have a hard time seeing this guy as anything other than a liar and conman. I’m sorry you idolize someone who cheats on his wives, donated to The Clintons and took money from a Soros but Hs somehow become the hero of conservatives. That’s something only you guys can explain.

I think there's a fair bit of intellectual dishonesty from both side of this discussion.

First, Obama inherited the worst recession since the Great Depression, so there was no where to go but up. He also borrowed and spent $800 billion to stimulate the economy, which only added to the national debt.

Trump inherited a relatively strong and growing economy. The first 9 months of his administration operated under Obama's budget and fiscal policy, which happened to be a period of some of the strongest growth we've seen. Currently there is only 7 months under Trump's budget and policies, so I believe it's premature to celebrate.

According to most projections, Trump's budget and fiscal policy will add to the national debt at a comparable pace as Obama's did. Whether or not his other economic policies generate enough revenues to offset his deficit spending is yet to be determined.

I, for one, hope Trump knocks it out of the ballpark economically. 7 more years like the last few we've had would make my retirement very comfortable financially. It would also temper my dislike for Trump's personality and character flaws.

There is 2 choices that Trump will have to decide on with this fiat currency + debt that has not been dealt with Bush or Obama (Obama really tip our financial problem of $9 Trillion extra debt from unrestrained spending). Trump will either reset the dollar back to the Gold Standard or declare a Jubilee (PZ will not understand this one as a Atheist) and will cause some short term problems but will stabilize the long term along with common since spending. Our National Debt is the #1 threat to this country that anyone but a Progressive Dem would understand, Econ 101 would explain this one.

I can't agree with you, GG. Sure, if you print enough unfunded dollars and flood the economy with them, then we'll see some temporary stabilization in certain areas. But let's tell the whole truth.

The Obama Admin invested in the wrong areas consistently. That's historical fact that's been hashed over here umpteen times already. Furthermore, they literally threw away (in the garbage) VAST amounts of that money they were allotted on longshot investments that ran dry over time. Many made his friends quick bucks, while some were as stupid as secretly sending pallets of dollars to Iranian Mullahs.

Yes, Trump has the advantage of seeing those mistakes and has monopolized on those errors. That is special, but goes unacknowledged by leftists. It'd be really nice if we had an honest Press, so everyone would see & learn from these actions. But that ain't happening.

So keep praising Obama for being handed off a bad economy that was purposely staged to reign in a Dem president in the 2008 election by the Pelosi/Reid congress of that era (at such a great cost to our REAL citizens that bore the losses). And I won't complain if you blame Bush for kicking back and letting it all happen before his very eyes. Not a bit....

This topic covers far more ground, but if you lefties can't see where I'm coming from by now, I ain't wasting more bandwidth tryin' to explain it...

From: Grey Ghost

Solo,

I fail to see where I "praised" Obama. I stated a fact the he inherited a bad economy. I also acknowledged he borrowed and spent $800 billion on what amounted to just more debt. That's not praise in my book.

I also stated the fact that Trump inherited a relatively strong and growing economy, and that the first 9 months of his administration, under Obama's budget and policies, was some of the strongest growth we've seen. You can decide who should take credit for that.

I don't buy your theory that Congress "staged" a economic crash to influence the election. They simply don't have that power, and it's ultimately counter productive for everyone, anyway.

I do agree, we've only scratched the surface of this discussion. But I won't hold my breath waiting for more in-depth conversation.

It would be either disingenuous or simply ignorant to give OBOZO credit for an economic cycle that was not of his making and in some cases, both.

Financials run in cycles, sometimes with little influence from administration in the short term. OBOZO created an environment that was hostile to business and growth through taxes and more so regulation. The economy when he took office had been on an obvious down cycle, and he was poised to guide a boon. Instead, he chopped its legs off. Overall, the real GDP growth rate for the Obama economy has been right at two percent–the worst economic recovery since World War II. How many years out of his 8 was the annual growth rate at 3% or better? Unprecedented for an American president and not in a good way. The average real GDP growth of recoveries rate prior to the Obama recovery was 4.3 percent. If the Obama recovery had been right in line with that 4.3 percent, the country would be well over 2 Trillion dollars richer today. Of course, OBOZO would have prompted Congress to spend that money on foreign bribes and social fluff anyway. Over 95 million out of work under OBOZO. A huge gap. Simple fact is the number of jobs created under the Obama economy did not keep up with the working age population. It went in the other direction. Both new business start ups and household income were down under OBOZO. No surprise there. Another thing that is of no surprise was the number of Americans on food stamps under OBOZO, increasing from 26.5 million in 2007 to 45.9 million by the end of 2016. The number of immigrants both legal and not legal using our welfare system tripled. Then there is the OBOZOCARE disaster. This country was poised for huge economic prosperity after a stark recession when OBOZO seized control, and he made sure that recovery was severely mitigated. Thankfully now we are in the process of ridding ourselves of nonsense regulation and regulation only designed to attack business. We are negotiating new economic deals that will favor the private sector and have created a tax environment that welcomes business and growth. All we can say is, thank you President Trump! 7 more years !

The Wall Street Journal described capital investment under Obama as "historically weak," citing the burdensome corporate tax rates and regulations as the reason for the weak amount of investment. This is an important metric since investment is one of the key forces behind economic growth.

There has not been a single year under Obama in which the annual growth rate has been at three percent, which is unprecedented for an American president." (from IBD)

"The Obama administration issued a record number of new regulations on its way out the door in 2016, leaving an administrative state that saps the economy of nearly $2 trillion a year, according to a new report being released Wednesday.

The government itself spent $63 billion in 2016 to administer and enforce all of its own regulations, the Competitive Enterprise Institute said.

With Republicans in Washington looking for reasons to streamline Washington and roll back President Barack Obama’s accomplishments, the new report is likely to be ammunition.

“The federal government’s reach extends far beyond its taxes, deficits, and borrowing. Federal environmental, safety and health, and economic regulations affect the economy by hundreds of billions — even trillions — of dollars annually,” Clyde Wayne Crews Jr. wrote in the CEI’s 2017 “Ten Thousand Commandments” report on federal regulations.

He counted 3,853 federal rules that were finalized in 2016 — the most for any year since 2005.

All told, during his time in office, Mr. Obama issued 685 “major” rules — generally defined as having an economic impact of at least $100 million — compared to 505 during President George W. Bush’s tenure, the CEI report said.

SPONSORED CONTENT

The page count for the Federal Register, which publishes regulations, topped 95,000 new pages in 2016, setting a record, the report said.

The Department of the Treasury led the way among executive branch agencies by accounting for 469 rules among agency priorities, followed by the Interior, Transportation and Commerce departments and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Financial regulations and federal land use issues in the western part of the U.S. were two big battles during the Obama administration.

President Trump already has made regulatory reform a key part of his agenda. He ordered the dismantling of Mr. Obama’s Clean Power Plan, which was a push to regulate carbon emissions in the nation’s power plants, and teamed up with Congress to repeal about a dozen last-minute Obama-era regulations.

But the CEI report said Congress should also bear more responsibility for the “hidden tax” of regulatory costs, which it said gets passed on to consumers to the tune of $15,000 per household.

For example, rather than vote to create new job training programs — and accept the consequences of adding to the federal deficit — lawmakers can instead pass a law requiring major companies to provide job training under rules they delegate to the Labor Department, Mr. Crews wrote.

“The latter option would add little to federal spending but would still let Congress take credit for the program,” he wrote. “By regulating instead of spending, government can expand almost indefinitely without explicitly taxing anybody one extra penny.”

The growth of the so-called “administrative state” has become a major issue in conservative legal circles, with some scholars saying it’s time to push the federal courts to roll back regulatory power and force it back into the hands of Congress.

Newly installed Supreme Court Justice Neil M. Gorsuch drew praise from some conservative circles with his opinion in a case last year in which he said it may be time for the high court to show less deference to regulatory agencies’ decisions.

On Capitol Hill, Republicans are pushing another solution: fewer regulations all around.

In January the House passed the REINS Act, which would require Congress to vote on major rules before they can take effect. That legislation hasn’t gone anywhere in the Senate.

Congress has, however, used the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn a dozen last-minute Obama-era regulations. Previously the tool had been used just once to overturn a Clinton-era rule.

Democrats have tried to throw up roadblocks to Republicans’ deregulation efforts, saying many rules are intended to protect consumers, notably in the area of financial oversight.

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer said earlier this month that the recent uses of the CRA were more about helping special interests than rolling back burdensome regulations.

“They are giveaways to big oil, big gas, big coal, big mining and wealthy special interests,” he said.

The total federal regulatory cost was $1.963 trillion in 2016, which marked an increase of about $100 billion since 2012, according to Mr. Crews’ analysis.

Mr. Trump can also order reviews within his own administration, hoping to knock out rules that tie the economy’s hands.

But White House budget director Mick Mulvaney said it’s not always easy to unwind long-embedded regulations.

“As we’ve been through the process, what we’ve learned is, it’s not that hard to slow down an agency on creating new regs,” Mr. Mulvaney recently told the Senate Budget Committee. “But when you ask an agency, a bureaucratic agency that is designed to create regs, to start to deregulate themselves … it’s a muscle that they have not used for a long time, if ever.”

Still, Mr. Obama’s penchant for using regulations as an end run around Congress means some of them are easier to undo now, said Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity.

“Right now we’re seeing enormous progress rolling back the extreme environmental regulations of the Obama years precisely because our side was successful in stopping the extreme environmental legislation during the eight years of Obama,” said Mr. Phillips, whose group lobbies for lower taxes and fewer regulations."

Hey, bigeasyliberal with one of his famous meaningless thoughts! Brilliant! The vast majority of Iran’s oil gets shipped to China and that isn’t changing sanctions or no sanctions. Most of the rest goes to the EU. Either bigeasyliberal doesn’t know how fickle and meaningless oil prices can fluctuate or he does but desperately must try to get a liberal message out. It’s likely both apply. This decision will have little affect on the long term price of oil, if any at all in the short term. Goldman Sachs has been calling for $80 oil by the end of this year for some time. Others even higher and the Iran deal has nothing to do with it. From one of them: “One, contrary to analysts’ and bank’s projections, Iran will not lose a single barrel of oil exports. More than 75% of Iran’s oil exports go to China and the Asia-Pacific region while the remaining 25% go mostly to the European Union (EU). China, India and other Asia-Pacific region countries as well as the EU are not going to comply with US sanctions and reduce their imports of Iranian crude.

While main buyers of Iranian crude will continue to do so, Japan, South Korea and a few others might decide to comply with US sanctions and shun Iranian crude. However, this will be more than offset by increased imports of Iranian oil by China, India and other Asia-Pacific countries as well as the EU.

Second, the pre-Iran nuclear deal’s sanctions worked against Iran’s oil exports because of a combination of the EU’s sanctions on global insurance companies insuring Iranian oil cargoes and US sanctions on banking making it difficult for Iran to receive payments for its oil imports in petrodollar. The EU is not going to walk away from the Iran nuclear deal and therefore it will not be imposing any sanctions on Iran thus further weakening US sanctions.

Third, Iran will be using the petro-yuan for payment for its oil exports thus bypassing the petrodollar altogether and nullifying the impact of the sanctions.”

No bigeasyleftist, todays rise in oil no matter what triggered it has no long term implication. You are enamored with only one thing as usual, to promote liberalism which means to attack President Trump. What was the price of a barrel of oil a year ago? 3months ago? 1 month ago? Any number of things can affect the price of oil short term. Long term and it gets a bit more definitive. Speculation and unrest can affect oil not so much unlike it can the stock market in the short term. The real meat and potatoes is in the long term. Oil prices went beyond $76 a barrel three days before President Trump announced that he is ripping up the tainted Iran nuclear deal and will be re-imposing sanctions on Iran. The impact by President Trump created a bit of volatility in the global market but hardly added to oil prices. Volatility in the oil market is commonplace, and turmoil that is and has been active in the Middle East is paramount to that. In the long term it all has to do with supply and demand. Perceptions and speculation are much shorter lived unless their is a real basis for them.

Even with re-introduction of sanctions, Iran will not lose a single barrel of oil exports. Sanctions will impact Iran in other ways though. Unfortunately OBOZO handed them billions of dollars to fund their war machine and nuclear ambitions. In no way can we ever allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Between us and Israel I can guarantee you they won't.

The upcoming talks with North and South Korea are historical. Just to get this far is a great achievement for President Trump and more demonstration of his strong and wise leadership. President Trump continues to work for the American citizens.

"President Trump on Friday unveiled his administration’s plan for lowering prescription drug prices, vowing to “take on” the powerful pharmaceutical industry while calling for an end to “global freeloading” that has allowed foreign countries to pay less for American medicine. “America will not be cheated any longer, and especially will not be cheated by foreign countries,” Trump said Friday in a Rose Garden address.

Trump's “American Patients First” blueprint includes several other tactics for lowering notoriously high drug prices in the U.S. The plan calls for increasing competition, creating incentives for drugmakers to lower initial prices and slashing federal rules that make it harder for private insurers to negotiate lower prices.

“Today my administration is launching the most sweeping action in history to lower the price of prescription drugs for the American people,” Trump said.

The president also had tough words for America’s pharmaceutical industry, saying he plans to “take on one of the biggest obstacles to affordable medicine, the tangled web of special interests.”

President Trump continues to produce for the American people. OBOZOCARE will be eliminated one way or another. President Trump works for the American people in stark contrast to what we had in Parasite Obama the America hating race pimp who worked for the global cabal.

Again, even if nothing comes of it (and it will) President Trump has gotten farther with improved deals with both North Korea and China than any other president. China has been breaking international law for some time, their new leader laughs at laws regarding theft and patents and sanctions. He agrees to them, and then does whatever he pleases. He has staked claim to international waters in the South China Sea and beyond. He has blinded our pilots flying in international air space and built artificial islands in international and disputed waters. At the same time, their economy is fragile. They are very dependent on world trade, and specifically trade with us. President Trump could break them financially by just a few banking moves, and they know it. President Trump is taking the prudent approach, slow but strong. We will get a much improved deal with China. We will also get a denuclearized Korean Peninsula. The last thing China wants is the USA moving nuclear warheads back to Korea. At the same time the fat little gargoyle in N. Korea desperately needs a deal. Pro life huh? His ICE just lost 1500 kids separated from their mothers. One was just less than a year old. So called pro lifers aren’t actuall pro life. They’re pro birth. They don’t give a rats ass about the kids once they’re born. Feeding them? Educating them? Healthcare for them? Nah.

y f IMposter. How many ILLEGALS are you willing to take into your house, and raise???

26-May-18
How many children NOT aborted are you taking? I’m guessing we have the same number. But you’re missing the point. If you claim to be pro life and pro children, do you mean only American children? Are foreign kids less valuable? Because according to the trump admin they are. They’re taken and put into camps away from their mothers. How is that pro child? Pro life?

Why do you think that it's America's fault, for the ILLEGALS to come here ILLEGALLY, and therefore the US is Responsible? It has nothing to do with PRO LIFE. It has everything to do with handling people that come here ILLEGALLY.

All you democrats are bringing to the table is DACA, and helping any and all ILLEGALS, for VOTES. The people need to remember this next Election. Thanks for exposing your agenda y f IMposter. You’d be wrong. I have arabic neighbors from Jordan, as well as a lovely Italian couple and we all get along very well. I also shop at a Spanish owned market because they have the best produce in a 25 mike radius. Your point? However, children are not any less valued no matter where from. I’m sad for you that you think that Kentucky. And deep down you’re better than that.

We have always wondered if Paul Zeidan is really as dumb as he sounds or he is just a troll. I think his last few posts have proven, he is indeed both.

Get something straight fool, ANYONE in this country illegally is a criminal. They would be in any other country and our laws and Constitution say so here. Your continued pursuit of a socialist state with no borders is pathetic and lacking of all common sense AND common decency. You are a parasite Paul Zeidan, a maggot.

Nobody is more pro child than someone Pro Life. Any American with common sense is also in favor of safe citizens and border security. Any America who loves freedom and liberty is pro free enterprise and pro capitalism. Paul Zeidan is an America hating Commie who advocates for the murder of babies with no discretion.

Yes, JTV, and it is only to get better as more business reinvests in this country.

A number of Democraps who voted against the bill President Trump signed concerning experimental drugs to terminal patients have gone on record saying while they agreed with the legislation they couldn't vote for it because the Party said to do so would be giving the Trump administration a win. Party politics, to hell with the country or the citizen. THIS is what liberalism stands for. Thank God for President Trump!

It is indeed very refreshing to have a president who is NOT working for the power establishment, is NOT working for the Party, and is NOT working for the global cabal. President Trump is working for the American people, for the USA, and nobody else. First time in the modern era that we had a leader who we could say that about. That right there is a big win for we the people!

North Korea with its top people in DC right now meeting with President Trump and staff. If these negotiations would end today, go no farther, it would be more progress with North Korea any president has made. President Trump by bringing them to the table while stalling their missile testing and the return of hostages has accomplished far more than all the other presidents since.

With that being said, there is a great opportunity here, and we can thank President Trump for that. I believe we very likely will have a deal before the end of the year, but it could take a good deal longer too. This is a very complicated matter, and there will be setbacks. If and when NK does agree to completely do away with their nuclear weapon program it will take many years, maybe a decade to see it fully implemented and vetted. This may end up not only a great victory for America but a great victory for the Korean people on both sides of the border. Not to mention the world. Thank you President Trump!!

We've had the tariff conversation before. Stand alone tariffs for the sake of there being tariffs are bad, no doubt. I've said it before, it's not just that they won't work, they can't work. This is not what Trump has in mind. These tariffs are slowly being installed to stimulate negotiation. It might pinch us for a bit, but it will burn them. Nobody wants them long term. Lots more to develop on that front. President Trump has created multiple avenues for success here.

Shrub’s tariffs and Trump’s tariffs were motivated much differently. That is what must be focused on, motivation. We will see what motivation brings, this is a card game. Nobody can benefit long term with tariffs, but we could certainly benefit if new trade deals are negotiated benefiting the USA. There is no free market, free trade, when the rules heavily favor the adversary. THAT is the motivation. In the meantime these tariffs will pinch us a bit, and will bite them deeper. Nobody likes it now, but we’ll love it long term if we can truly create a more “free market”.

From AOS today:

"Look, Mrs. Merkel, I don't know who you think you're dealing with, but I'm telling you this borderless global world order garbage you're trying to sell me is a non-starter. That's just not happening. And you're trying to get America to fund it, too. Did George Soros tell you you could do that? That's rich. Well, we're not falling for it. You thought maybe you could roll me like Obama got rolled? Yeah, right. Just ask the Iranians, they had him over a barrel saying thank you as the mullahs pantsed him and poked him one after the other. He was a disgrace, a complete disgrace, and America is better off with him out of the picture. Oh, and the little runt spied on my campaign, you know that? I'll bet you didn't. Well, it's true. Anyway, from now on, I'm looking after America's interests first, and by America's interests, I don't mean the interests of the GOPe donor class and their cronies in the Chamber of Commerce. So I won't be signing on to any bad trade deals that do nothing but increase our unemployment and debt while you euro-commies reap the benefits. America is not the world's piggy bank. Those days are over. Bill Kristol is going to have to pay full price for his pool boy. No, don't listen to him, he's an idiot, a complete moron who is still living off of his daddy. So you can talk to the 'Stache here. He's a helluva guy. You may not like John, but you know something? He doesn't like you, either. I didn't bring him here to win a popularity contest. Come to think of it, John probably doesn't like me very much either. But we both of us love America, and that's what counts."

Great pic indeed, and the transcript dripping in truth. Europe sees the great success of President Trump and is tired of seeing their countries over run by invaders and run into the ground by socialist leaders. Look for a long term wave of socialist leaders thrown out of office. That will include Merkel.

What happened yesterday with NK is only because of great visionary leadership by President Trump. Team Trump continues to pave a new path for America, one that puts America first and builds a safer world. The groundwork is well laid in NK and while it will take time this is a tremendous accomplishment. The wins just keep coming!

Via Daily Wire:

The Trump Administration knows exactly how to handle the despotic government of Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism: On Sunday Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif admitted to the Iran Chamber of Congress that the collapse of the 2015 nuclear deal would have “very dangerous consequences” for the country.

With protests mounting in the country against the government in full swing, what Zarif is likely referring to is the fact that any more pressure on Iran’s economic system and the government will fall. As Reuters reported, “The Iranian rial plunged to a record low against the U.S. dollar on the unofficial market on Sunday, continuing its slide amid fears of returning U.S. sanctions after President Donald Trump in May withdrew from a deal on Tehran’s nuclear program. The dollar was being offered for as much as 87,000 rials, compared to around 75,500 on Thursday, the last trading day before Iran’s weekend, according to foreign exchange website Bonbast.com, which tracks the unofficial market.”

Army Training Will Now Focus On Actual Battlefield Skills, Not Social Issues

Back to train as you fight.

Via Washington Times:

Actual fighting will now take precedence over dealing with transitioning transgender troops, drug abuse and other issues as the Army seeks to overhaul its training regimen to hone its soldiers’ battlefield skills.

In a series of recent service-wide memoranda approved by Army Secretary Mark Esper and Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and obtained by The Washington Times, service leaders are now making optional previously mandatory training on issues like transgender transition and drug abuse. The move, Army leaders argue, is designed to relieve stress on the already overburdened troop training regimen and refocus on soldiers ability to fight in combat.

“The Army’s regulations and policies that deal with training were pretty settled and there were not a lot of detractors to it. … It was all the other [training] requirements that we levied on ourselves, or we had levied from other places” that led to the increasingly cumbersome approach to combat readiness, said Col. John O’Grady, chief of the Army’s collective training division.

Those mandated training requirements “served as barriers to maximizing time … to build readiness and lethality” within combat units, he said in an interview. Aside from ending mandatory training programs on transgender troops and drug abuse, courses on media awareness and anti-human trafficking have also been eliminated from the mandatory curriculum, the service memoranda state.

Army officials are codifying the new marching orders into service-wide training guidelines and doctrine, which will bring the Army more in line with the Pentagon’s new National Defense Strategy, Col. O’Grady said.

The strategy, which was one of Defense Secretary James Mattis’ earliest policy initiatives, shifted away from the George W. Bush and Obama-era strategies dominated by battling extremist groups like al Qaeda, the Taliban and Islamic State, and putting the priority on challenging traditional nation-state rivals such as China and Russia. It also placed a greater emphasis on increasing lethality in conventional combat operations.

Along with scaling back non-combat training mandates, service leaders are also extending the time soldiers spend in infantry training. Soldiers graduating from the nine-week basic training course will now spend an additional two months in “advanced individual training” (AIT) before heading to their first duty stations.

Currently new soldiers spend about six weeks in AIT before deploying. AIT courses based at Ft. Benning, Georgia — dubbed “Home of the Infantry” — will be the first to implement extended training time schedule, Military.com reported.
