Hard to say. Its an old game. A dictator or regime rattles their saber and it makes the world and markets unstable. The big guys on the block tell them to chill out and they make a backroom game plan. The dictator/regime eventually backs off and gets a bone thrown to him by the one or more of the big guys. Usually they let him save face if he promises to behave. That lasts awhile and the cycle repeats.

Sometimes the dictator misjudges how far to push and ends up like Saddam. Other times they get a plane load of cash in the middle of the night and just keep on doing what they agreed not to because one of the big guys agenda is served if they continue destabilizing things or it kicks the can down the road far enough that its someone else's problem.

This is going to be years long negotiations to finally convince them to get rid of nukes. One of the major problems is the way we handled Ukraine and Libya. Ukraine gave up their nukes and Bill Clinton and the UN promised them that we would basically protect them if they were invaded and when Russia did Obama did nothing.

Then with Libya he gave up his chemical and nuke ambitions and then we helped the terrorists take over his country. Thank you Hilary and Obama.

Why should NK trust us?

Yeah Libya was a real debacle. The ONE dictator who cooperated and did what we demanded, giving up his nuclear weapons to Bush... and the next idiot in office decides to kill him as a way of saying thanks. Sheeesh
