To add to the article. If our economy is so great because of Obama why has it been rising with Trumps policies that differ from Obama’s?

No pain no gain! Why do you think no one else wanted to address the issue? Because most politicians worry more about re-election than they do America! Trump is making the hard decision because he is not one of them! Time will tell if it works or not.

i will take a short term small tariff hit to stop the other countries from ripping off America with terrible trade deals.

These Trade imbalances are something that we can't just "let it ride"...nobody has ever addressed this ever-spiraling issue on either side of the aisle for the last 3 decades (or more).
I think Trump knows that if he looks the other way, it will never resolve.

Steel/aluminum tariffs are a good idea to keep some steel aluminum production in the US. Think WW2, who was the industrial might of the world? And who is it now? How long would it take to build and get a steel mill up running. Do we have enough time if we get into a shooting war with China?
Inquiring minds want to know.
