I have a young neighbor kid who I've taken under my wing and taught to bow hunt. He's using a an old hand-me-down set of Bushnells that are the equivalent to looking thru the end of 2 Coke bottles. I'd love to give him a nice set for Christmas, but his parents think I already spoil him. If I got them for free, they couldn't argue with me.

BTW, my young friend is the most respectful, kind, and gracious kid I've ever met. He watches over our horses and other pets when we travel. His parents are not wealthy, but they are some of the best people I know. Solid folks to the bone.

I won a Winchester model 70 458 Win mag at an SCI EVENT in Fort Lauderdale years ago. Probably in the early 80s. I already had two 458s so I donated it back By the time the night ended it ended up in its 4th home of the night. That $900 gun ended up bringing over $6000 for SCI I know you have seen that with much bigger money involved
So whomever wins is free to do what they want with them

I've won a ridiculous number of firearms at the CA WSF event, some of them very top-end.
Yet except for three, I've donated the rest of them back to be auctioned.
I'm with you. Back in the day when we were doing lots of shows I won lots of stuff. Mostly ay SCi shows because that's where our market was. I only kept two guns. One double rifle and one single shot Browning rifle. I won three guns in one night in Pittsburgh but donated them back
I only did one WSF SHOW in Philadelphia years ago when they tried the NE market. 90s maybe. It sucked pretty bad on attendance and weather was really bad. All we had back then were Aoudad sheep and they had not taken off yet

My kids are having fun with it. They’re pulling cards out of a deck, trying to “predict” the winning card, talking about how they’d use “their” binoculars if they win and dreaming about future hunts.
