NV scopes

My brother in law has a really nice NV scope that we used to look at deer late this summer (no guns). The problem is that he is in a whole different tax bracket and I need to drop several $ off the price for what I am looking for. My wife enjoyed it so much she has asked for one for Christmas.
Here is my dilemma...There are a lot of them out there and I don't want to drop that much dough and not be happy with it, so I am looking for recommendations.
Price point is up to $700 Want to be able to see well out to about 200 yards. May even want to mount on a 22-250 for coyotes when not watching deer. I recognize that I will not get the same performance as we had this summer, but for a good fit. Thanks in advance James

What NV are you looking at? Prices I've been seeing thermal and high end gen 3 stuff is $4k-$10k. I'd be interested in taking a look through a $700-$1000 unit.

SA The unit we used was a 7K unit. I'm in the same ballpark as you. I want recommendations on those 700-1000 units

I don't think you are going to find one to satisfy you in that price range.

I am going to try out an ATN X-site II 3-14 this weekend. This Day/night HD digital scope has great reviews, if you also purchase the Pro IR light and the battery pack. Reviews say this combo is good in the 200-500 yrd range. Will let you know.
This package can be had in my price range.
