Is pelletized limestone the same thing?
I assume so.
The reason I ask is my daughter needs it for a science project.

Basically calcium carbonate...limestone composed of several forms of it.
What she going to make... calcium acetate to gel alcohol? I have made calcium acetate to make fuel (sterno) for my gel fireplace.

Ah...acid/base study. Soft drinks are acidic, the limestone is basic.

Yep. She just sent me the instructions. Pelletized limestone will work fine.
