Acosta is the perfect example of a person who makes himself part of the news rather than reporting it...the prostitute of journalism.
Etiquette used to be unspoken in a White House Press Conference, now it is basically forgotten.
It's a shame that the White House should have to even consider something like regulating behavior at a press conference, just another case of one A-hole screwing it up for everyone else!
Could you just walk into a presidential press conference any time you chose if you claim to be a journalist?
Could you have done so under the previous administration?
Could you have done so under any previous administration?
This Red Herring is so old it stinks up the entire conversation.

But short of that this is likely the next best thing......
Freedom of the press was never intended to be "freedom of the press to do as they please". Wake up people and demand the press be totally detached from political opinions, favors and the guise of protecting your inalienable rights. The secrecy and the umbrella that protects them is as criminal as the criminal sources that they have the power to protect, regardless and aside to the power and protection of the people. They of course, just as in their reporting, tell a much different story as this disrespectful Acosta incident has revealed but the video itself indicts all who defend him.
Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press, although they they have little worth saying nor little worth printing.
Someone chime in with the childish " you can't say that in Russia or China" mantra.

You have no idea how shortsighted it is to tamper with the constitution just because it appeases a man-child.
1st Amendment only means you cannot get in trouble for disagreeing with the government. It only means you can have a redress of grievances with the government, or what they're doing without fear of being thrown in prison. It only means you can act as an agent for yourself according to the dictates of your conscience (freedom of religion).
IT DOES NOT MEAN you can say anything you want NOR DOES IT MEAN you can behave anyway you want while filling the role of reporting the news.
Jeez, some people's kids.
Geez..... I'd guess PutZ has been banned from dozens of places, including here several times. He knows the routine, knows why and knows it's not any "constitutional" issue..... it's a behavioral one....
Here's an idea... give Acosta a call.... tell him to change his name and put on a disguise, then sneak in pretending to be someone he is not..... if you get caught then rinse, repeat.....
Uh, it wasn't limits on the 1A. Act like a douche bag in the White House, get your pass revoked. Wanna stand outside the White House and engage in douchebaggery? Have at it. You wanna stand outside my house and act like a dick? Go ahead. Come in my house and act like a dick, you'll be leaving. Either under your own power, or with a little "assistance". Clear? Or should I draw a picture in crayon?
You have to respect the office, even if you don't respect the one who holds the office.
Probably not true for many conservatives and Christians.
I think you better go read the constitution again because you clearly don't understand its meaning. Jim Acosta does not have a constitutional right to a press pass.
Me I would have had him removed, and asked for an apology for the intern. I have tough enough skin for someone to challenge me in open debate (which is not the purpose of a press conference) but touch one of my staff, you are toast.
The real issue here is CNN’s unwillingness to compromise by putting another journalist in his place and removing him from White House detail.
This is the real world. Some people just don’t catch their stride in certain relationships. Move along and make it work or just move along. It isn’t hard nor, nearly as traumatic as Trump haters are making this out to be.
