This seems dangerous to me. Sure, our super level-headed, fair and balanced current President makes good and fair decisions about it. But what happens, Jesus save us, if another Obama-type socialist/communist is elected? He might limit Fox. Or are we not concerned about that?

Acosta is just one of a gaggle of reporters for CNN...nothing special. Besides, if one really looked in the matter, Acosta can still apply for a daily pass and go through the checks that all the other reporters go through. What he lost is his special pass that allowed him daily access without having to go through what most reporters must.

Acosta is the perfect example of a person who makes himself part of the news rather than reporting it...the prostitute of journalism.

Slippery Slope for sure.

Etiquette used to be unspoken in a White House Press Conference, now it is basically forgotten.

It's a shame that the White House should have to even consider something like regulating behavior at a press conference, just another case of one A-hole screwing it up for everyone else!

Really?

Could you just walk into a presidential press conference any time you chose if you claim to be a journalist?

Could you have done so under the previous administration?

Could you have done so under any previous administration?

This Red Herring is so old it stinks up the entire conversation.

Yes, he is not limiting the access of the press or censoring the press. He is limiting access to a buffoon who can't control himself just as I would expect anyone to do in this situation.

Did not President Obama on more than one occasion publicly criticize FOX.

The WH gave Acosta enough rope till he hung himself with it. He can sit on the sideline till Trump decides he gets another chance, if that ever happens.

Limiting the Press? LOL This President talks to the Press five times as much as any past President and ten times as much as Obama and the Press is hostile to him 95% of the time.

The White House pulled Acosta's pass, not CNN's...

"Should President Be Able To Limit Acosta". He might have been able to slap him around some, looked like he might when he stepped out from behind the podium and Acosta peed himself......

But short of that this is likely the next best thing......

After the pending law suit the suspension holds firm. Asosta made a jerk of himself for all to see and he got what he deserves.

The press has abused it powers continuously from its inception and leans heavily upon the people to defend them in the hoary notion that they are defending us. Nothing is further from the truth and the American people buy this B.S just as our B.S political overseers, and OVERSEERS they are.

Freedom of the press was never intended to be "freedom of the press to do as they please". Wake up people and demand the press be totally detached from political opinions, favors and the guise of protecting your inalienable rights. The secrecy and the umbrella that protects them is as criminal as the criminal sources that they have the power to protect, regardless and aside to the power and protection of the people. They of course, just as in their reporting, tell a much different story as this disrespectful Acosta incident has revealed but the video itself indicts all who defend him.

Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press, although they they have little worth saying nor little worth printing.

Someone chime in with the childish " you can't say that in Russia or China" mantra.

Give Acosta his pass but does not have to respond to him just like Putz/Atheist, like children be seen and not heard.

14-Nov-18
I have no problem with it, escort the problem out...

So limits on the 1st amendment when your guy is in office and he's offended (snowflakes anyone?) but no touching any part of the constitution when the otherside is in office?

You have no idea how shortsighted it is to tamper with the constitution just because it appeases a man-child.

CNN has plenty of reporters who hold a Whitehouse hard pass. Acosta was being disruptive.

paul, paul, paul, paul, paul...

1st Amendment only means you cannot get in trouble for disagreeing with the government. It only means you can have a redress of grievances with the government, or what they're doing without fear of being thrown in prison. It only means you can act as an agent for yourself according to the dictates of your conscience (freedom of religion).

IT DOES NOT MEAN you can say anything you want NOR DOES IT MEAN you can behave anyway you want while filling the role of reporting the news.

Jeez, some people's kids.

So Mr Respect the Constitution..... which is it? Follow the constitution or not? What it says is not open to debate. It's very clear and specific. Making chit up as you please is not following it.

Geez..... I'd guess PutZ has been banned from dozens of places, including here several times. He knows the routine, knows why and knows it's not any "constitutional" issue..... it's a behavioral one....

Here's an idea... give Acosta a call.... tell him to change his name and put on a disguise, then sneak in pretending to be someone he is not..... if you get caught then rinse, repeat.....

"So limits on the 1st amendment when your guy is in office and he's offended.."

Uh, it wasn't limits on the 1A. Act like a douche bag in the White House, get your pass revoked. Wanna stand outside the White House and engage in douchebaggery? Have at it. You wanna stand outside my house and act like a dick? Go ahead. Come in my house and act like a dick, you'll be leaving. Either under your own power, or with a little "assistance". Clear? Or should I draw a picture in crayon?

Democrats happy Alex Jones is banned from social media upset because acosted can't take over a white house Press conference. College democrats shut down free speech on campus. Just a bunch of losers...

Dang it, Paul thought he had something there...Lol

No one's 1st amendment rights are being infringed. That's ridiculous.

You have to respect the office, even if you don't respect the one who holds the office.

I think you better go read the constitution again because you clearly don't understand its meaning. Jim Acosta does not have a constitutional right to a press pass.

From: Tonybear61

He doesn't have a Constitutional right to touch a intern who is trying to be professional and remove the mic from a disruptive child pretending to be a journalist.

Me I would have had him removed, and asked for an apology for the intern. I have tough enough skin for someone to challenge me in open debate (which is not the purpose of a press conference) but touch one of my staff, you are toast.

15-Nov-18
KPC x 2. Plus, previous presidents have done as much in more subtle ways.

The real issue here is CNN’s unwillingness to compromise by putting another journalist in his place and removing him from White House detail.

This is the real world. Some people just don’t catch their stride in certain relationships. Move along and make it work or just move along. It isn’t hard nor, nearly as traumatic as Trump haters are making this out to be.
