2) “ I do believe that a sitting president can indeed be indicted”
Madam Speaker is not playing! Nor is this New Congress.
Trump will make a deal with Pelosi. Why do you guys think he is going so far left?
Pelosi reminds him of his sister who will be the replacement for Ginsberg....
This is the era of "words don't have meaning".
I saw that fluff interview. It was after Trump took a lot of grief for saying Mexico would pay for it, including from Mexico who said they would not be.
I guess if you think I am anti-trump, you would also easily conclude I am anti Obama.
I was hopeful he would grow into the job like others before him. He is stuck on tweeting insults, so yes, I am anti-trump style. You got me.
Did not see that Mitt used that phrase, but I used it at least 2-3 months ago here when I first started being more vocal about my growing concerns. It is a common phrase used when talking about leadership development.
I am a fan of Mitt's character, was not a fan of his state's health Care program. Maybe we could all try separating character from policy decisions?
Secretary of Defense Mattis - intellect of a "fifth or six grader." Secretary of State Tillerson - "Trump is a fucking moron." Secretary of Treasury Mnuchin - Trump is a "an idiot."
Chief of Staff Reince Priebus - Trump is "an idiot." Chief of Staff John Kelly - Trump is a "fucking idiot."
National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster said that Trump is a "dope," and an "idiot." Director of National Eonimic Council and Chief Economic Advisor Gary Cohn said Trump is "dumb as shit."
Steve Bannon said "Trump's like an eleven year old."
John Dowd, one of his lawyers that quit called him a "effing liar."
I think Pelosi is going to make Trump's life a living hell and based on his co-workers assessment, he is too stupid to win or even to realize that he is losing.
Really, it's hard to tell whos who on Capital Hill anymore. She don'tveven qualify for thw label "Liberal", she is more like a Marxist or Communist. Republican party has takn the role of the Socialist party.
Who's sensitive? Religion bother you that much?
Been plenty of people say that WAY before "the Mormon" did, yet it doesn't matter until now...
The press was tough on RR, my support never waivered.
Was a very principled man of high character and the right policies. Heaven improved when he moved in!
And this is our chance to see if Mitch or Trump actually fall for it! If McConnell let's the Dem bills go through (deliberately written to undermine Trump's battle over the wall) it will say a lot about the GOP 'establishment'.
And we need to see if Trump knows enough to Veto BOTH Democrat spending bills if they ever reach his desk. The only way Trump gets the wall is if he holds strong and is willing to Veto any and all funding bills that do no include substantial funding for a genuine effective southern border wall !!
No doubt.
"LOL@HDE..."
Case in point, snowflake...
No doubt.
"LOL@HDE..."
Case in point, snowflake...
That is objective, thanks.
Only place I disagree with your view on the left is the reason Pelosi and Schumer support what they do. I have never accepted they necessarily believe in any doctrine. They support on the outside what allows them to keep power. It's really all about them. They would support conservatism if it allowed them to retain power, and was the only way to do so. Same reason McCain was left leaning. Do what you have to do to retain power.
Term limits!
LOL@MT in MO
Just man up, admit you're a prejudice prick and move on. LOL@MT in MO It's all right snowflake, the only one clueless is the resident hater @MT in MO. LOL
You are probably right, but I still believe term limits would solve a lot of this. If you have them for the president, should be no problem for Congress as well. I have never believed the FF wanted career politicians running the country.
But then again, I have been told that Lynard Skynard's 'Simple Man' was written for me:)
Where is Donald Trump? Well? Where is he you CF morons? I will tell you. He is in the White House still calling the shots less the half wits who no longer sit their chairs, and, the CF dunces who idolize them.
The Rock
Too many SEC teams lose? Short fuse today. Take another hit man, it will be alright:)
My guess is IF it makes it out of the house, it won't go to the WH, Senate ALREADY has a bill that funds the wall don't they? They just haven't brought it forward because they don't think it can pass. Line them up, first in first out.
It's going to be interesting.
The U.S. Treasury Department says that the national debt has increased by $2 trillion ($2,000,000,000,000) since President Trump took office on Jan. 20, 2017. That's with Republicans in control of the House and Senate. The national debt is now almost $22 trillion.
No explain to me how they should even qualify to win anything in the next election.
On the border wall? On immigration? You’ve just saddled the next three generations with unending debt. Shame on all of you.
“The United States Treasury has taken in MANY billions of dollars from the Tariffs we are charging China and other countries that have not treated us fairly. In the meantime we are doing well in various Trade Negotiations currently going on. At some point this had to be done!”
Um ZERO money has come from China into the Treasury. ZERO!
Me: “Who pays tariffs: the country importing the good or the country exporting the good?” My 13y/o student: “The citizens of the country importing the good.” 8th grade curriculum,
Your president is dumb. Just dumb and it’s no wonder he bankrupted a casino. A CASINO? The place where you hand over money for NOTHING!
But yea. He’s your guy.
Trump has national debt going up at the same Obama levels his first two years, yeah.... but has EVERYTHING to show for it. A resurgence in military equipment and strength, an economy booming so much the fed banks are jacking rates to try and slow it down. Lowest unemployment, reduced federal regulations, renegotiated trade deals for the better. Jobs! Growth! Strength!
The tax raises the price of the good, reducing quantity demanded as consumers find substitutes, i.e. domestic goods
That is the intent, it reduces the flow of goods coming in so will impact exporters directly.
Please give the kids the full story.
Seriously, I don't know where you're getting your feelings hurt, but I never addressed anything towards you until you attempted to attack me...If it was the 'The Mormon" comment that little pussies name had slipped my mind at the moment of posting so I used the best descriptor I could think of at the moment. Apparently it worked as everyone knew who I was talking about. Now, if that is truly why you are so ANGRY, well then you may want to review the term snowflake and how it has come about to be used in current conversations...You can correct me if I am wrong (and I am sure your little liberal heart will command you to regardless), but I am pretty sure the term was originally used to describe people exhibiting incomprehensible anger issues similar to your current outburst...There, I tried to help...LOL
YOUR boss. Amazingly idiotic statement that galvanizes who YOU are.
The Rock
Love this woman! At least someone adheres to the dang Constitution.
Salagi's Link
Dear President Trump,
I know you are courageous. I know you are a patriot. I know you care deeply about the future of this nation. Therefore I have addressed this request to you and you alone.
As is well known, the tangled web of the federal bureaucracy and national media have produced an embedded administrative state that some term the "Deep State".
Through administrations of both parties, in good times and bad, the size and scale of the federal leviathan has grown completely unchecked.
And like a living organism, it has, over time, developed its own survival instinct.
Among its defensive tactics were the collective set of crimes known as "Spygate", which represents the weaponization of Obama intelligence and law enforcement agencies against you. Starting in 2015, deep state actors embedded in CIA, DOJ, DNI and FBI leadership positions launched simultaneous campaigns more suitable for a South American dictatorship than the United States.
The first such campaign was an effort to exonerate Hillary Clinton for her egregious and clearly criminal mishandling of huge troves of classified information. The second, of course, was the attempt to first prevent you from winning the presidency and then, immediately upon your victory, to have you impeached or removed from office. The latter scheme includes the Mueller special counsel itself, which is simply a second phase of the scheme to entrap Trump administration officials in various "collusion" scandals.
Many pro-administration pundits believe that all you can do is wait for the outcome of the deeply conflicted Mueller probe, which has suffered forced attrition due to a variety of untoward bias and prejudice. Once the special counsel report has been delivered, you could choose to declassify key assets that document the criminality of those behind Spygate.
But there is another way. Use the Clintons to take the Deep State to the Woodshed
Hillary Clinton, like Barack Obama, is a radical leftist who despises the Constitution and the free market. Her troubling history is well-documented, as even The Washington Post observed in 2008 when the editors of that dying journal were trying to get then-Senator Obama nominated.
Hillary Clinton and her husband have some secrets you can help expose, in spite of what the Mueller probe chooses to investigate, which, thus far, appears to be only persons affiliated with one particular political party.
The Cox Report
The Cox Report was issued in 1999, a time when some House Democrats still put country before party, after an investigation of some shocking transfers of military technology to the Communist Chinese military.
This special committee, created by a 409-10 vote of the U.S. House of Representatives on June 18, 1998, was tasked with the responsibility of investigating whether technology or information was transferred to the People's Republic of China that may have contributed to the enhancement of the nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles or to the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction... ...The committee's final report was approved unanimously by all 9 [bipartisan] members. The redacted version of the report was released to the public May 25, 1999.
The full report has never been released.
Why might that be?
Because, in an ominous foreshadowing of the Uranium One scandal, the Clintons appear to have traded critical U.S. military secrets to the Red Chinese in exchange for millions in campaign contributions.
For instance, on 9/13/1995, President Clinton met with John Huang and James Riady (pictured below). During the meeting, Huang expressed an interest in becoming a fund-raiser for the Democratic National Committee.
In this position at the DNC, Huang raised $3.4 million. The DNC was later forced to return nearly $2 million when a Congressional investigation revealed "problems" with the source of the funds. Huang was later convicted of crimes related to illegally reimbursing campaign contributions with Asian funds. Riady was also convicted of related campaign finance crimes. A U.S. Senate campaign finance report stated that Riady had a, "long-term relationship with... Chinese intelligence."
In effect, the Clinton colluded with the Chinese to sell American military secrets.
On 3/14/1996, President Clinton signed an order transferring license-granting authority for military/industrial technology from the State Department to the Commerce Department. This order made it easier for the Chinese military (the PLA) to launch American satellites, over objections from the both the Pentagon and the State Department. During the Clinton administration, focused Chinese espionage efforts made significant headway in the theft of U.S. military and industrial secrets including those concerning nuclear warheads.
On 5/25/1999, the U.S. House of Representatives released the Cox Report ("Report of the Select Committee on U.S. National Security and Military/Commercial Concerns with the People's Republic of China"), which detailed publicly for the first time China's espionage campaign against the United States. The report was a redacted version of a still-classified report. Approximately 30% of the original report, the unanimous product of a bi-partisan committee, remains classified.
President Trump, you can release the full Cox Report and its underlying source material that would likely implicate the Clinton administration in a potentially treasonous set of activities.
The Barrett Report
Another little-remembered scandal involving the Clintons, The Barrett Report:
...is a 400 page [document] created by special prosecutor David Barrett. Initially tasked with investigating allegations of lying to the FBI against Henry Cisneros, Secretary of the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development under U.S. President Bill Clinton, the investigation eventually delved into allegations that President Clinton had used the U.S. Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service as political tools against American citizens.
Does any of that sound familiar?
Before the release of the report, three Democrat U.S. Senators, John Kerry, Dick Durbin and Byron Dorgan, forced the redaction of certain pages by attaching a rider to an unrelated appropriations bill.
Cisneros, a former San Antonio mayor, eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of lying to the FBI. He paid a US$10,000 fine and was pardoned by President Clinton on Clinton's final day in office.
In short, three powerful Democrat Senators simply covered up reports that Clinton used the IRS and the DOJ to attack political opponents.
President Trump, you can release the full Barrett Report and its underlying source material. It will become clear that Democrat presidents, from at least Clinton to Obama, have abused the office by weaponizing the Executive Branch against poitical opponents.
So my request is as follows
President Trump, please release the unredacted Barrett and Cox Reports to the American public. Any sources and methods should be protected. But the majority of the document -- as demonstrated by the cover-up attempts on the part of Democrat elites -- should be seen by the American people.
Let's find out what Hillary Clinton and her husband were really up to when they occupied the White House for eight years.
I fear that the lawlessness of the Clintons set an ominous launching point for the Obama years.
This escalation of "legalized criminality" must be stopped. You can begin the process of healing our country.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
MAGA,
Doug Ross
That's rich criticism coming from a guy that breaks his word every letter he types on the CF.
Nor do I critically analyze people with judgement. Especially when committing the same offense. I just say what it is. This case is a little different because we all know Trumps intent when he said that. To say otherwise is an attempt to exploit a talking point.
It’s just ironic that a guy is chastising another for something that the accuser has only truly done.
Yes, I did say I would leave. I did for quite some time and never looked at CF again as promised, until someone sent me a PM as I explained the last time. I decided to return and I explained my reasons. I own it.
As I encouraged you to do the last time, some self reflection. You had a habit of being very blunt, and then closing out typically with a "God Bless". That said something about your character as did my return. But I have fessed up to it and own it, unlike our President who is a narcissist.
And you no longer sign of with GB. You ought to know humans are not perfect, including both of us. Character comes in owning our mistakes, poor behavior etc.
With the President I see a man who continues to bulldoze over people he decides for whatever reason to do so. Whether that is former spouses, little old ladies owning property he wants, college students etc.
Stunning to me such a self proclaimed Christian can recognize my flaw but give this guy a free pass for his behavior.
What you categorize as poor behavior is a decision I’ve made to not mix my feelings with my commitment to wish everyone God’s blessings. Because of the response you just exhibited. It doesn’t change it. It only caters to people’s perception.
Point two would be that not just I exhibited that response. Meaning, people take things differently than you might. Numerous people took the president differently than you did. That does not make them wrong, except in your eyes. That says more about you than them IMO.
When you called me out publicly for coming back after saying I would not, I immediately owned it. What you did to me you are now critical of others for doing the same to Trump. Maybe your ego gets in the way as well on occasion?
If you remember our last exchange on this, I told you I ended our private exchange because I did not think you were capable of realizing what I hope you will now. Read the above paragraph again if you still don't get what I am talking about.
I did not lie, I did not honor my word on something very minor. At the time I made the statement, I did not ever believe I would be back. That makes it not a lie. I have honored my vows for 37 plus years. That is much more important, at least to me and probably where it counts as well.
EDIT: Let me add, I learned a valuable lesson though, and that is I must be more cautious going forward with any such promissory statements. I should have put this first, but you know that ego thing...
That’s all this is about. Pointing out how you over look the behavior in you that you say you deplore in Trump.
You can keep trying to turn the mirror around to me. I’m not perfect. I have fault. I’ve openly stated that. But, what I pointed out in my first post has nothing to do with our faults. Only what I said. Your behavior in this matter.
You and Matt are masters at trying to steer the conversation to what you want it to be about. Keep doing it if that makes you happy. But, you’ve taken personal task to point out anything negative about this president the last couple weeks. I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy in it.
The Rock
Took me awhile to get some time to respond. I take your candidness as an OK to do the same. Here we go, maybe Rock can clear his brain and follow along.
I do NOT disdain Trump. I do not know the man, so you know that would be wrong to do. I do loathe some of his behaviors. The reason is simple, I believe he hurts the conservative cause in the long run, no matter how gratifying his in your face style is in the short run.
Justin, I believe freedom is the great cause we all agree the world needs more of. It is better for humanity and the greater good. In my lifetime RR was able to use positivity and style that was inviting. He is largely responsible for an impact felt around the globe. Not only did Europe get on the right track, but the western hemispere also saw a tidal wave of market reforms that brought economic growth never before seen.
Today, that is dieing, and liberalism is gaining ground. And every where it does, human suffering increases. Is Trump's divisive approach the answer in the long run? I get many, maybe most here will say yes. I don't. It is a disagreement, that's all. Rock, please quit with the drug laced rhetoric. None of us know which is the best course. My bet is a Reagan type leadership at this time is what the world needs. I might be wrong, and I might not.
Point two, your logic is seriously flawed Justin. You claim to point out my hypocrisy for being critical of Trump for making the same mistake I did. My broken promise is not even in the same hemispere. We will come back to that.
You claim you also have flaws, but that doesn't prevent you from being critical of me. You see the hypocrisy? You are doing exactly what you accuse me of.
Now, you might want to argue that you have different flaws, so it is not hypocrisy to point out I have the same as Trump. Based on that logic, no one who has ever broken a commitment could be critical of Trump then. There are a whole lot of people that broke their vows. Let's start with them...and you see where this is going?
Justin, try and set aside your superiority complex for a moment. I, and others who have sinned can, and must, be critical of our leaders when they deserve it. My sins do not effect you or anyone else. His words and actions can have a huge impact on all of us. That is how these two situations are different. If you cannot see that, you, and Rock, are not as sharp as you think you are.
One final comment on hypocrisy before I move on to dismantling your last piece of poppy cock. I find a person who is as blunt as you have been in the past signing off with "God Bless" as the epitome of hypocrisy. I hope someone pointed that out to you and that is why you quit doing it. The best way for us to help spread the word is by our conduct, and you and I both need improvement.
Your last area of garbage is when you try and dump Matt and I together and with your self aggrandizing mind tell us why. I will let Matt speak for himself if he is so inclined. For me, either you are unaware or worse, knowingly not telling the truth. In the last week alone I complimented Trump on inviting leaders from both parties to the WH. I thanked him and said this is leadership. Justin, in your mind you are so convinced your view is superior you make statements that are blatantly inaccurate.
Truth be told, Trump will be gone in 2-6 years. My approach on the CF has been not about him, but about mocking the folks here who suffer from CDS. If Anne Coulter, and other conservative talking heads, had not challenged Trump there is no doubt in my mind he would have compromised on the wall. A lot of folks here will just go along with whatever he says.
I am not a political party guy. I hope I am somewhat similar to our FF who supported ideas and principles, the biggest being FREEDOM. When our leaders support this, I support them. I am probably closest to gflight in thought, much more so than I am Matt. I don't know why Matt points out what he does, but I do it so we can continue the legacy we inherited. Being totally honest, I also do it because I hope non-hunters reading this site realize the typical liberal stereotype of hunters, God and gun loving folks is not 100% accurate.
So many of us talk about getting around a campfire and discussing. I would love Jesus to be there. When the group here started to pick on someone, as soon as Jesus started writing in the sand I would bet my soul everyone would shut up. Don't you? Too bad Paul is an atheist, otherwise he would not need to take all the grief he does.
Justin, I agree I need to continue looking in the mirror. So do you, as well as every one else, till the day we die. I invite you to help me, but if you want to point out my opportunity areas and faults, I will oblige you and send back the same.
I own that I came back after saying I was gone. I also know that by God's grace I so far have got the big and important matters in life right. And I also know my future errors will not affect anyone here. Hope you understand the difference now?
Rock, I will always be glad to discuss with you when you quit talking with riddles, contrary to what you have convinced yourself, it does not reflect well on your intelligence.
Good night, and dare say I hope and pray our country will remain in His Good Graces.
Keep it simple Frank. All the rationalizing why your word wasn’t kept is no different then anyone else’s when they broke it. It is what it is.
Just like every human error, but your Jesus card makes you too blind to see it.
Human error is only a problem when we fail to admit and confess.
Let's be honest Justin, all this is about from your perspective is standing up for Trump. Here's the litmus test, if I had been repeatedly critical of Obama saying things like you can keep your doctor, which ended up not being true, you would have never said a word about it.
Blinded by CDS. Just admit it.
Thanks. We all fall short. Especially me since I am only 5'8". Lol.
I try not to sweat the small stuff. After taking a break and deciding to come back, my action on this is akin to breaking a New Year's Resolution in my own mind. Probably every body has, and that is why I don't make them any more.
Admit mistakes, ask Him for forgiveness, partake in sincere contrition and move on.
Thanks again.
I would not consider your decision a mistake by any means. A well timed sabbatical many times clears the demons. Many times I have backed away from situations that otherwise would have had negative consequences had I continued on that road. Many more times I wish I would have taken the advice to do so.
The Rock
Oh I am rooting for KC because I would like to see Andy Reid get to the SB again and win it.......... if the Eagles are out of it of course. ;-0
The Rock
Glad the Eagles squeezed in, but I like to see the glory passed around a little, so even if the Chiefs don't win I would rather it not be the Pats or Eagles. But, good luck to them for your sake.
I’m sorry people are “dumping” you and I together. That must be so frustrating for you.
I see God is still whispering in Justin’s ear.
Pelosi makes me cringe every time l try to listen to her. I usually have to walk away before she finishes a sentence. Something about that women makes my skin crawl.
Matt
Sigh. Saturday was another day, with another meeting between the Trump administration and Congress, and still no breakthrough on the shutdown. So it’s back to the drawing board on Sunday. The two sides met for over two hours just like they met on Friday with the same results: nothing, nada, zip. But Donald Trump befuddled Nancy Pelosi with some questions that left her mind reeling.
During one of the meetings, Trump asked Pelosi:
“Why does everyone want to impeach me, Nancy?”
To which Pelosi replied that no one wanted to impeach him, and tried to move back to border security. But the President didn’t let that slide, and he then zinged her about her Catholicism:
“The Vatican has walls. The Vatican has walls surrounding the city. You like the Vatican, Nancy?”
Actually, I would’ve rather he challenged her about why she called a border wall an “immorality” yet has no problem with funding abortion. How does that square up with her Catholic faith?
Pelosi’s answer showed that once again, Donald Trump befuddled her.
“Let’s change the subject, sir.”
A source says that Pelosi took the comments “not well.” I’m pretty sure Trump was laughing on the inside.
So Pelosi told the President that no one wants to impeach him. Does she think he fell off the turnip truck yesterday?
How about just a couple of short days ago when Rep. Rashida Tlaib took her oath of office and promptly stated — in front of her children yet:
“We’re gonna impeach the mother***er.”
Or when California Rep. Brad Sherman immediately introduced articles of impeachment after the Democrats took over the House:
And then there’s Rep. Maxine Waters, who’s made it her personal crusade to “impeach 45”:
“They say, ‘Maxine, please don’t say impeachment anymore.’
“And when they say that, I say impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment.”
There’s a reason some people call her “Mad” Maxine, isn’t there?
Now Nancy Pelosi knows full well that every Democrat in the House is slavering over the idea of impeaching the President. They all hate him with the fury of a thousand suns.
They loathe him, of course, because he wasn’t supposed to beat the anointed Hillary Clinton. But they despise him for another reason.
Just as Donald Trump befuddled Nancy Pelosi with questions she never expected, he also confuses every Democrat in Congress, as well as the media.
They can’t control him. He doesn’t play nice like nearly every other Republican they deal with in Washington, and so he threatens their power to influence the Executive Branch. And this is not the Congressional gig they signed up for.
In fact, during Friday’s meeting, some Democrats were upset that Trump used the F-bomb during their heated discussions. Like they never ever use that vulgarity, right, Ms. Tlaib?
Carry on, Mr. President. Just as you befuddled Nancy Pelosi, keep the rest of the Democrats guessing your next move. We need that wall.
Trump will also help them with another appointment to the Supreme Court, that should rattle their traps..........:)
It does not bother me to be associated with you. I know you, you have good family and are a good person. I know you like these debates for the mental exercise, you always like a good challenge. I also sense like me you become frustrated when a difference in opinion inevitably gets reduced to name calling and insults.
I waited to give Justin enough time to respond, to be fair to him. The fact of the matter is I have been critical of Obama on multiple occasions regarding "you can keep your own doctor". We have had family members negatively impacted by this! He never pointed this out on the C F or in private as he did my criticism of trump.
I was fair with Obama though. I did not say he lied as I really don't think he knew. Everything I read about his style is he was not a policy guy and did not get involved in details. Once the truth was discovered an honorable man would have admitted it, apologized and tried to reverse course. That is what I faulted him for.
Why I am disappointed in Justin is that he has shown himself to be a person of double standards, yet claimed very publicly of being a devout Christian. Maybe as Rocky pointed out, taking some time away would be good for him to clear the demons and come back with a different approach?
I am also questioning his judgment at this point. He seemingly equates a broken commitment on minor actions like I did with coming back, and New Year's resolutions on the same level as repeatedly breaking marital vows made before God. Lacking any demonstrable ability to reflect on this I can only conclude he seems to rationalize his double standards either because, as you suggest, he believes his faith makes him superior, or maybe because CDS has caused him to be irrational.
Keeping it very simple, he rationalizes his own worse behavior that he criticizes others for. It does lead me to conclude for some reason he thinks he is better than others. I encourage him, like me to admit his double standards, not just admit generic weaknesses, and also like me to try and do better going forward.
Glad I was able to respond to you on this. I know we have been disagreeing on the border challenge, but you do make me think. The wildlife challenge is an example. I actually began to think the steel slats will be better for animals like reptiles that might need to go back and forth. Any major wildlife species, even if it meant extinction of them, I think we are more important. Hopefully the experts can deal with all of the challenges including the technical ones you cited. Maybe to a fault, but I think we can overcome all of the difficulties.
Thanks and good night Matt.
