Tax rates do not determine the amount of money that is borrowed. That would be SPENDING determines the amount of money that needs to be borrowed. If the HOUSE and SENATE would do what they are supposed to do (Create an annual Budget and manage the spending to correlate with the tax revenues available) the country would not need to borrow against the future prosperity of the country.
Congress has not passed a budget since Bush Jr years in office. All they do are these STUPID Continuing Resolutions. Which as a byproduct allows for these STUPID gov't shutdowns...not my opinion...that's fact!

The one thing we have backwards is our healthcare. As you can see I just spent $807.96 on the one thing that keeps my mother alive, insulin. These 3 vials will last her 30-45 days. So I’ll have to go back and get another round of insulin.... hopefully at the same price. I’ll have to keep doing so otherwise she will die. Simply put
Keep in mind I DO have health insurance, blue cross and blue shield. Pretty big name. But since she isn’t a legal dependent, I pay out of my own pocket as my insurance won’t cover her.

People that are unemployed and have no insurance cant afford this. This system is unsustainable for most low or fixed income folks.
We have been using insulin since the early 20’s. There’s now over a 500% markup in price. This is wrong and needs to change.
YFP, I have an app on my phone called Good Rx. Gives alerts to prices and the like. I see this site has coupons for Humalog at 177.87 per vial. Not sure if you can get that price where you are or not.

Thank you Jim. I also tried walmart brand, but I read that its not great quality. I"ll look into that link. For what its worth, I will be taking a trip to Toronto in the coming weeks (the insulin is a fraction of the cost here so I'll be stocking up)
