ok Indian jokes aside, are we bound to ruin this earth. both with pollution and robing every natural resources until their are none left thus rendering this earth worthless... yup. are we pissing up a tree to think that penalizing companies that don't meet an imaginary green standard of compliance is going to change that much... yup. Are we as a country foolish enough to think that the U.S. alone is going to save the planet with green technology that will never be financially feasible thus never being obtainable by less finically stable countries... yup do I have the answer... no, but I find it more than just a little ironic that our idea of cleaning up our planet is shipping all our garbage overseas and pretending it doesn't float right back to us, of throwing our old obsolete machines that pollute in the trash, so that other third world countries can put them right back to work polluting their side of the world with them. I would be all ears for a solution that wasn't rapped up in a tax and spending bill, and ear marked for other wasteful spending that has nothing to do with the environment, thou I don't expect that in my life time. Trying to " fix " what's wrong with this planet and how we behave on this planet is like trying to stop a prophecy from being fulfilled

Stillhunter. It is the management of harmful byproducts that need more focus. It has always been that from early days in Mass, IE Tanning factories and other chemical companies dumping heavy metals and similar toxic products into our rivers and Bay. No one would mount an argument against managing real pollutants.
The byproduct of burning our Fossil fuels ( CO2) is not the same as " Pollution" as we know it. Those environmentally harmful by-products that people dumped into our waterways is a thing of the past and great strides have made our local water and Air much improved. The loons want to blend co2 with toxic pollution and that is where our public is misinformed and being scammed into the fake-green-solution to a fake problem. Focus on harmful byproducts and managing them by accountability to the approved disposal methods. Replacing our energy production with a Dream ... What a nightmare! and what a scam.

This planet is fixing to enter another of its ice age cycles, a little bit more co2 might not be such a bad idea right about now.
you are right sir, we have done grate things in the past to stop the toxins in our water ways. I feel as thou the green Ideas of late thou miss the mark by a mile, because we focus on the dream products. The companies the produce , and install solar, wouldn't even exist with out government subsidies, and tax brakes for electric or hybrid vehicles because the technology never pays for it self. I feel like we are trying to sell people on the idea of feeling good about then selves for thinking they saved the planet. take the electric car for example. lets say I own a gas hog v8 truck and I am suddenly compelled to go green. I trade in my truck and buy an electric car . I would pat myself on the back for not creating co2, thou I would be using an huge amount of electricity that I wouldn't even be able to afford in not for my government tax credit. and that electricity is still produced with coal and oil burning generators, so as far as co2 I am accounting for just as much if not more. The company that built the electric car polluted to do so, the dealer I bought the electric car from, then resold my truck to some one else who is still polluting with it. and once my electric car is warm out we can just bury that giant battery some where and forget about it. but I got to pat myself on the back and that's what its all about. Its like going round and round and never getting any ware. If as MA senator she wanted to do some good right hear in MA, maybe we should stop dumping millions of pounds of salt on the roads very time it snows, witch pollutes the water which effects insects, and fish and birds and plants all in a very negative way just so that the roads are clear enough to drive our electric cars around.

VERY true-I spent the early part of my career almost 40 years ago on smoke stacks, roof tops collecting air samples, walked swamps, collect water samples from pontoons and skiff, dug in Superfund, brownfield sites too. Got very well acquainted with test wells for drinking water. Did a lot of lab analysis-Even found 33% methane coming out off the ground in a field being prepped for residential project. No one was able to pinpoint a source-no former dumpsite, pipeline, no former swamp or other naturally occurring source. It was baffling, but true. Some entrapment trenches need to be built to capture it and vent. Similar operations are present in the Midwest and its basically free fuel.
More fish and game around, cleaner waterways today then when I was a kid. The fearmongers have been at it big time for decades, with mostly old data. This is no longer Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" or "The Sea Around Us" . I strongly suggest you read both to get an indication of what it was like in 50s-60s, that behavior is no longer tolerated in US. Most developed countries that are not socialist get it too. China, India, Russia are all going backwards its not us, so placing restrictions here will not solve the problem. Russia claims to have the most restrictive health and safety, environmental standards in the world-but they don't enforce anything.
AOC is a buffet of crazy-she needs to be ignored or ultimately taken out of office for proposing this crap. No one is going to recycle their own piss or stop flying in airplanes, driving trucks, cars or using diesel trains or barges turning over our strong economy, leadership in oil and petroleum industry to a crazed woman and her ilk.
