How about a resolution calling for taking away Hawaii's statehood? In 12 years no one will be able to get there anyway if AOC has her way.

The lies told in furtherance of leftist goals are starting to come out. Most of us knew they were lies all along, but it appears that all semblance of 'reasonableness' and 'civility' is now gone. Good, now any remaining Moderate Democrats will be forced to take a position. With them, or with us. It's really just that simple.
One state can't decide to make up its own rules and interpret it's own meaning for the Bill of Rights. Or some southern stages would go back to slavery.
It will never fly in the Courts. Just political posturing/pandering.

This is worse than one state "trying to make up its own rules". This is a formal request to Congress to amend the Constitution, which would affect everyone. It won't happen, fortunately, but it's still troubling.

VERY troubling to say the least. If they take the 2A away, then why not the 1st? But it must start with the Second. They know damn well that without the 2A, the rest are just meaningless words on paper.
But congress can't amend the Constitution either. Not on their own. It would still require a super majority in both House and Senate, as well as 3/4ths of the States. Not happening. These dummies will never agree that widely in anything.
Well, at least the voters know their true enemy and can remove them via election or impeachment.
So, the right to protect ones self and to be secure is a God-given right, or if you will, an inherent basic human right. None of the rights listed in the Bill of Rights are given to us by the government. Rather, the Bill of Rights was added as a leash on what the government may or may not do to violate those rights. Even if the 2nd Amendment is repealed, every person still has that inherent right to self protection. If the government wants to remove the controls over itself in an attempt to violate those rights, then there will be- or at least I hope that there will be- a severe pushback.

Our enlightened forefathers met the Brits at Lexington and Concord. That started a revolution. The leftist want another one? They will get it if attempt to repeal 2A. Most of you will will recall the proposed ERA amendment. It was thought a shoo in but it never made the 3/4ths ratification so the fact is that any attempt to repeal 2A will never happen.
I do not recall folks recently 'rolling over' with respect to the BLM grazing issue in NV. Government needs to be careful when it comes to fair and equal application of its laws. We, The People, using the power of the ballot box, can rid ourselves of swamp rats....though it takes time. Seriously abusive and oppressive governments can and have been removed by force....John Locke....a few centuries ago.
The reality is that they can pass all the unconstitutional crap they want, but when it comes down to it they still need people to actually go to the public and TAKE the guns that they've banned. Who's to do this? Local law enforcement? Military?
There's already many LE chiefs who have REFUSED to enforce some confiscatory gun laws. Many of the "rank and file" LEO's that I know have said they would not participate with that kind of order. And most ALL the young military people I know are of the mindset that we are of here.
It would be another civil war indeed and they damn well know it.

I used to tell my history students that, were the government to send my son who was enlisted in the Air Force to confiscate my arms; I would shoot him as I had not done anything illegally to warrant such. As a side note, numerous county sheriffs in the upstate counties of NY have refused to enforce aspects of socialists dictator Cuomo's SAFE act. LE officers serve in a very dangerous job but most realize that 2A protects their rights as private citizens. Another side note, OK will have Constitutional Carry come Nov. 1, 2019. Anti-gun lobbies are not welcome in Sooner country.
Congress created the Defense of Marriage Act to discourage Hawaii's idea of homosexual marriage way back when it wasn't so hip to be queer.
Congress has defended against Hawian political ideas before. They will hopefully ignore this one.

In Illinois with our gun rights taken down to a privilege with the FOID card I heard a story yesterday. Do to a case of mistaken identity in a computer data base a friend of a friend had his guns confiscated by the local police.
gflight...I fear I may tend to agree with you about today's millenials (sp?). They want everything handed to them for no hard physical work ethic. News yesterday was decrying that huge numbers of 'spring breakers' were crowding planes. Never heard of spring break when I was in college...had to have a little $$$$ so was cutting pine and beech logs in the woods skidding then out on snow. I did pay MY college loans in total ands on time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
