HDE, most of us know how it works but thanks for edgeumicating us.
I am hoping the folks here who have Senators on the Judiciary will contact them to shoot this down.
It only takes a couple Republicans for it to get out of committee and you can see Lidsay Gramps is all in for it and background checks.
Be vigilant my friends...
"Most of these cases have something in common, not all but most: a very disturbed person that people have interacted with before," Graham told CNN. "The Parkland shooting is Exhibit A, the guy did everything except take an ad out in the paper. The FBI got called, local cops got called and nobody did anything. "
Read it. Read it again. And again, and again, and again... till it sinks in. The solution? Pass more law(s). Never saw so many "conservatives" willing to roll over and offer up any orifice to appease the gun grabbers. You know what you get when one gun law passes? Ten more waiting to be proposed.
The Aurora, IL shooter? Turned down for a CCW because of criminal record. Triggered a revocation of his FOID. Firearms should have been confiscated BY LAW. Once again, the government failed to enforce EXISTING laws. And yet, some of you are willing to let the police confiscate and get a judicial order within two weeks. Sutherland Springs Baptist church shooter? Same thing. Air Force failed to notify the FBI ( AS REQUIRED BY LAW) of his bad conduct discharge and assault convictions.
And yet you're still willing to let the SAME government confiscate your firearms based on possible less then credible testimony and wait for a court to decide your fate. All without being charged with a crime.
Keep it up. Keep backing up. That bump on your ass? It's a wall you've backed us in to.
No more. Not. One. Step. Further.
But when your goal is to limit or eliminate civilian firearms ownership, red flag laws look like a good idea.
This sure seems like dangerous ex parte legislation to me, but I fear there's too much mis-guided support for it. Even the NRA seems to be flip-flopping on their position.
Be vigilant, indeed.
Matt
Same can be said about needing a background check before anyone buys. Have a DWI and no sale for you. Very unpopular because now it affects millions more than just gun owners...
I can only imagine how it will affect current and former military personnel being treated for PTSD. No more deer hunting for you amigo. Hand over the Rem. 700, you are a trained killer.
