And They're OFF!!
10 seed Minnysoda beat 7 seed Louisville.
12 seed NMSU had a chance to beat or at least tie LSU but they went one-for-three from the line with :01 left and lost.
Belmont scared the pants off of MD but couldn't quite get the job done.
Fourteen seed Yale came close, but in the end, lost to three seed LSU by five.
15:15 left in the 2nd half and twelve seed Murray State is whuppin' up on five seed Marquette.
I LOVE March Madness!
Murray State beats Marquette, 83-64.
GO, underdogs!
12 seed Murray State crushes 5 seed Marquette, 83-64.
Go, underdogs!
The NCAA play downs are great to watch even as your teams go down. ;-)

Last year #1 seed UVA lost to UMBC by 20 points and became the first # 1 seed ever to lose to a 16 seed.
Can it happen again?
There's still 13 minutes to go in the first half but at this point at least, UVA trails Gardner-Webb 28-16!
Six minutes left in the game and 13 seed UC Irvine leads 4 seed Kansas state, 58-51!
It's OVER!
UC Irvine pulls off the second true upset of the tournament with a 70-64 win over Kansas State!
Uh Oh!
Halfway through the second half and 15 seed Colgate (yes, COLGATE!) leads 2 seed Tennessee, 52- 50.
Gotta give the games a chance.... UVA won big and Tennessee was the better team at the end of that game.
Gardner-Webb scored a measly 20 points in the second half.
You can't win doing that and they didn't.
The early rounds produce the biggest surprises.
I watched the Virginia game and was holding on to my seat until that halftime run. I thought Tennessee would walk off at halftime on this one. Surprise.

No YUGE upsets so far.
Other than 13 seed UC Irvine beating Kansas State today, the best we've seen so far is a 12 beating a 5, which happens 'most every year.
My #8 Aggies start in an hour vs #9 Washington.
USU is the hottest team in the country and a 3 point favorite.
I'll be watching and keeping my fingers crossed!
GO, AGGIES!!!!!!!
Well, my Bearcats did what they are known for again. Year in and year out they win over 20 games, make the tourney in the middle of the pack, and lose the first game to a team worse than them! Maybe next year!
K-State was in trouble long before the tip off. It was a bad match-up for K-State from the start and then their best inside player was out with an injury. UC Irvine has been on a tear with double-digit winning streak. It was played practically in their back yard.
The bigger surprise would have been if K-State managed to win it. However, the game didn't play their way and the outcome was what most in KS expected.
12 seed Orygun whupped up on 5 seed Wisconsin, 72-54.
And another one bites the dust!

Duke down 12-5 how many would love to see that?
I used to get so much out of watching college basketball when I was a kid. I definitely need to reconnect.
Amazing how many 12 seeds have won in recent years. It's almost as if having that 12 by your team name builds a little extra confidence.

Practically no dropoff from the 10-line to the 12 in the first 2 rounds.... but that is where the magic ends.
Gators are done. Michigan and Michigan State advance.
Michigan got mauled last night but they never would have beaten Gonzaga anyways........
Michigan State is off to a fast start against LSU.
