A LOT!
I guess that's because JTV and I are old farts and were very familiar with Doris Day when we were growing up.
Most of the rest here, apparently, not so much.
You young'uns missed some great times.
Most houses in your neighborhood were full of WW II vets and every couple had 3-5 kids.
Back then, 'dope' meant just one thing - someone like AOC.
Back then, there were only two genders.
Back then, even Dems and liberals loved America and supported our military.
Back then, being "PC" was a term which had not yet been invented.
Back then, families mattered and everyone either went to church on Sunday or to synagogue on Saturday.
Back then, public schools taught reading, writing, US history, and arithmetic. They did not teach crap like 'social justice,' 'gender fluidity,' nor economic equality.
Even better, there were no 'famous for being famous' national embarrassments like the Kardashians and their ilk.
Indeed, as Mary Hopkins sang, "Those Were The Days, My Friend."
No one knew "The ROCK" was gay until a long time after that.
Everyone thought Hudson was the epitome of "A Man's Man."
Then we found out he was, just not in the way we thought.
;^)
I always liked Doris Day. She was a classy lady. I thought she handled the media well when she was peppered with questions about kissing Rock after he contracted AID's.
I was a real young kid when DD was popular but I sure do remember her movies and songs growing up. God bless her.
Really?
What she was, was very insecure and she killed herself because she thought guys only wanted her for her body.
Nice work, JFK, RFK and Teddy!

Dope or pop was a soda when I was growing up in Appalachia...
