This is from where I attended HS many years ago.

From "Sports in Kansas" Facebook page.

"And they said track isn’t a team sport. We have some great kids out there. Jordan Raby, senior at St. Francis HS is one of them.

Raby, one of 1As best sprinters, was set to run the 100, 400, 4x100 and 4x400 at regionals all of which he has gone to state the last two/three years in.

The Friday before regionals as they were putting teams together someone mentioned that his twin brother, Bryce, who has high functioning autism and has had a dream of state track for years, was doing well in the 800 but not good enough to place alone, and two others were in the same boat.

Jordan who has NEVER ran an 800 jumped in and said if it was going to help the others make he would drop his 100 and run it. After people told him it could really affect his other races he replied that if it helped Bryce & the others get to state he didn’t care.

He practiced hard last week and ran the 4x800 relay with them at regionals and ran a 2:05 leg despite never running it & the relay took 2nd place while punching their ticket to state. He managed to also make it in the other races.

This should bring a smile to your face. Doesnt surprise us as this is the same kid who wrote us a hand written letter thanking us for his football exposure. He probably has no idea why we were asking him for this photo today of his 4x8 but now he does. Great kid"

100's and 800s are far, far different.

That he could do well in both is a testament to his training and his attitude.

Well done, Jordan!
