Impeach the President for What?

Saw on the news tonight that the Dems want to impeach President Trump. What is it that he has done that would warrant an impeachment?
Because The Witch From Hell was supposed to win and they refuse to accept the lawful results of the election.
Because they’re Dems and Libtards unhinged...
Republicans paid a huge price for impeaching Clinton while the economy was on the upswing. The center saw it as ticky-tacky partisan politics and they hammered the Republican Congress at the next election for it.
Pelosi knows this. She was there for it. That's why she's trying to keep her caucus from impeaching. She doesn't want to lose her Speaker position. Again.
I lost and I want retribution in a nutshell
"What is it that he has done that would warrant an impeachment?"
Won the 2016 election.
They can want to impeach all they want. The problem arises when they actually move forward with it based on what they have. This country will come unhinged. In civil uprising.
No it won't. Just noise. I doubt they do anything. They are just trying to rattle him. Make him tweet more. Make him say something stupid. They got nothing to run on. So they have destroy his image...trump told Pelosi today nothing legislative will be done so long as investigations continue...Pelosi and Schumer are trying to make him look unhinged...jmo
JTV DO NOT MISTAKE ME AS A LIBERAL relax Francis I was answering the question as a Indiana liberal
Lying to everyone and anyone Including Congress, cheating, hiding his taxes, firing employees for no apparent reason, cheating on his wife...over and over.Hiring Prostitutes,Paying off mistresses. And placing tarrif's to crush our economy. Oh' yea lets star a war for no apparent reason!! 2020' Ron Rump for prisoner.
I knew what he meant JTV. And, I'm willing to bet most here did as well. Not being a wise guy. Just pointing out reality. And, using it as a punchline to say, it'd be better to apologize when you wrongly accuse a person of something. Versus, acting as if they had done wrong to justify it. Just sayin'......
Treason, bribery or other high crimes or misdemeanors.
Has to have happened while in office.
Has to happen while in office. Key phrase.. even if treason, bribery or other high crimes or misdemeanors exist at all.
Well there is that hairdo, meanwhile China steals more secrets, Iran plans more terrorism, Russians appreciate the spotlight is off them, for now.
If Highlife is a liberal, he hides it well...;)
He's obviously RUSSIAN!!! Probably kin to Putin himself!
There's no impeachable offense, and they know that. It's a smoke screen to cover their own crimes and those of their deplorable cohorts, and further attempt to discredit him... and it's about to be blown away and leave them further revealed.
Smoke screen for sure, also when they start marching behind Barrs... they will say Trump is the one who should be locked up... watch and see just how unhinged they are going to get!

Yet the dems are yelling Collusion, Russia, Obstruction. ????????
None of those are impeachable offenses. Most occurred before he was POTUS. Hell 95 % of politicians are guilty of those same acts. I still argue tariffs are a good thing. Short term pain for long term gain.

Politicians have their reasons for this stuff. The general population that wants him impeached is doing it because they don't like him. It's the equivalent to not letting the girl (who didn't make the cheer team) sit at the lunch table with the cool girls. Plain and simple: we don't like how you act so we want to punish you. There is no amount of good that he can do that will get people past this. Conversely, there is no amount of bad things he can do socially to sway constitutionalist and capitalists the other way.
I don't want to be pessimistic, the chances of Trump getting voted out in 2020 are better than him getting impeached. I'm not saying I want him voted out, I'd like to see him have another 4 yrs.
You're absolutely right, Hunter. There are plenty of people for various reasons that don't like him. If a viable Democrat candidate wins the nomination, they will win, pure and simple; if not, they won't, just like the last election.
"Conversely, there is no amount of bad things he can do socially to sway constitutionalist and capitalists the other way."
I doubt this. And there is no way to prove it until he does something beyond the pale and no one really knows what that could be for the masses, but for me, there are things I won't support him on. Like using government resources against political opponents or maybe spying on them with no evidence of wrong doing.
The first part of Catscratch's post is verifiable...The rest is speculation...JMO
The libs are always saying Trump lies. What are they talking about? What specific lies has Trump told to Congress? I'm talkin actual, quoted, lies like " You can keep your doctor period."
Impeach him for handing everything over that mueller asked for!!!!
You are very correct in the fact that what I said is speculation. There is no way I can predict how people will feel. But, he has done awful things socially like make fun of mentally disabled people, make fun of reporters for their looks, made fun of women's period, etc. My point was that there are people out there that hate him for these things and will never forgive him no matter how good the economy is or how secure the constitution is. In the same boat are the people who will completely ignore these social acts as long as the economy and constitution are protected. I think it's fairly accurate to say that both are true (even if it's speculation). :)
Except that many of the terrible things he has done are only in the imagination of the democrats and leftist press.
If people vote based on truth he wins by a landslide. If they vote based on false allegations he could lose.
JTV and Trump for PRISONER!! Oh by the way Trump is a Lying, cheating ,bold face liar...and you?
Can you impeach a President simply because you despise him? I think Obama proved the answer to that is a resounding "NO!"
The Dem party is nothing more than a modern day lynch mob. Even when the law has spoken they refuse to let it go. All I can say is watch out; there's two ends to every rope..
He took shots again today at his former secretary of state, Tillerson. People don't care any more about this stuff. He gets a free pass as long as we keep heading in the right direction.
“My point was that there are people out there that hate him for these things and will never forgive him no matter how good the economy is or how secure the constitution is. ”
The examples you gave were things he did before ‘16 election and he still won. If the economy stays decent and we don’t get into some stupid ass war in the Middle East he will win again. The people that despised him before the last election still despise him, that will never change.
If Jim Webb puts his hat in the ring, Trump is toast.
. . . .
.. . . .
Webb is about the only viable Dem that can win that I can think of.

Biden having some shady stuff come out will hurt him. I don’t really see a Dem yet that can beat him, barring something unforeseen in the next year
It's all in the context Catscratch...When Trump did those things you mention, they were generally directed at people who had attacked him or his family personally. I don't necessarily like how he strikes out at adversaries but I do understand that is how he reacts to being attacked. I know plenty of people who would react the same way...
Obama and friends did the same thing, but were more subtle about it (That is sarcasm by the way). Calling 1/2 the population bitter clingers, deplorables, despicable people, etc...They went for the entire population of people who did not vote for them. Trump generally just attacks only those individuals who attack or oppose him...Which is better?
I think too many read too much into a single action. I think most people who do this are looking for justification for their feelings.
I can tell by your response here and a few other posts you have made that you don't like Trump and are trying to justify it...that's ok...You don't have to like him...He is still your president...8^)
DirtClod,
You want JTV to be thrown in prison, for exactly what?
Saying things you don't like?
Speaking of liars:
Adam "Schiff For Brains" has said repeatedly he has absolute proof Trump colluded with Russia and obstructed justice.
So let's see it, Congressman!
Cripes, even Nancy Pelosi is telling you to put up or shut up on this.
Nancy Pelosi is the one who should be removed!!! She's tying up the whole government. She's crazy!!!!!
Henry,
That plus, "Hillary was supposed to win!"
Lol, I'm glad you know me so well... or maybe your reading comprehension isn't so great. I simply think there are people who don't like Trump because of his social etiquette and it won't matter to them how good he does with anything else, they will always hate him (which I think is childish, much like I pointed out in a previous post about not letting someone sit at the cool kid table). I also think there are people who will excuse his social etiquette no matter what he does. I still stand by those statements and I never once said which side of that fence I sit on. I would think that my criticisms of those who choose to hate him no matter how good the economy is or how protected constitution is would give a clue, but maybe not.
Since you want to assume my stance I'll make it easy for you: I think Trump has done a great job with the economy and Supreme Court. I feel the Constitution is currently protected. I care about those things MUCH more than I do his social etiquette. I saw nobody in the previous election that would have done better than he has, and I have yet to see anybody coming up that is better than him. With that said I do wish he was less crass and better spoken, but I certainly don't let that sway my judgement of his polices. I'm not sure why you brought Obama into this discussion. He is completely different in that his polices were horrible in my opinion and he had the country very divided socially. The division he caused was the worst I've seen in my lifetime (I do recognize that it's been worse at different points in time, but not from what I've experienced). Is Obama the only bar you want to measure Trump against? I'm hopeful that he brings the country to a level far above what could be measured against his predecessor.
The reason I brought Obama into the discussion is because you are making a point of Trump belittling people and I was just pointing out that he is not the first one and I was just comparing the two. Which is worse? Trump belittling the people that attack him, or Obama and others belittling entire groups of people that don't agree with his policies?
The answer? Neither are good. However, Trump gets skewered and Obama and friends get nodded at as if they said something profound...
Sorry if I ruffled your feathers...I added the smiley to show I was kidding....
From what you just posted I would say we are on the same page...
Have a nice weekend!
All is good, we apparantly are on the same page. Your smiley face thing didn't look like a smiley face to me (maybe I'm too old... I still call this typing). I know Trump isn't the first to act that way and like you I don't think it's good for anyone. I've always said that while Obama was a smooth talker, the things he said were very corrosive to race relations. He tore this country apart.
"He tore this country apart."
Which was precisely his intent.
"We are just five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America!"
Which was precisely his goal.
Stretch face has backed down after she was Trumped..................
But by Thursday evening, Pelosi backed down from impeachment — “We’re not at that place,” Pelosi said Thursday after President Trump ripped into her.
""Pelosi closed the House and sent home lawmakers Thursday evening for a 10-day Memorial Day recess and quelled calls to remove Trump from the White House.
Politico reported that Democrat lawmakers were handed a one-page messaging paper that urged lawmakers to talk up the party’s work on health care, infrastructure and weeding out corruption — the Democrat talking points left out calls for impeachment.
President Trump ripped into Nancy Pelosi and the “do nothing Congress” Thursday during a presser.
Trump on Pelosi, “She’s a mess… Let’s face it… It’s a do nothing congress… She’s lost it.”
I have no concerns about DJT getting impeached. I don't think it would result in removal from office and I firmly believe the Democratic leadership knows this. So do the Republicans....so the White House strategy is to goad and defy. The Dem strategy is to maneuver and keep the pressure coming in the form of subpoenas, statements, threats and innuendo. The end goal isn't impeachment. The Democratic party end goal is DEFEAT in the next election....or secondarily grounds to impeach and remove if needed at that time.
I'm amazed really that Trump doesn't stay on the high road and let his people fight the war. He is doing his presidency no favors by being repeatedly drawn into obstinate fights which his opponents are (I think) effectively using to gradually build their case.
While I have no use for Nancy Pelosi, I think she's the most formidable political opponent DJT has ever encountered. She resists the calls for immediate impeachment. She's letting time, evidence, opinion and behavior move along to the point of inevitability...she hopes. The steady subpoenas and requests for documents or testimony all get stonewalled....and I think that's something the democrats are strategically using to build upon. The more that happens and accumulates, the more she can make the case for obstruction of congress. And if I'm not mistaken, that was the beginning of the end for Richard Nixon. If Trump doesn't serve a second term, people will be able to put the blame or credit....as they see it....on Nancy Pelosi.
"if Trump had the media and the house behind him, his approval would be 60-70%"
Aside from the fact that would be a downright miracle, can you IMAGINE how far in the right direction and how quickly we could reverse years of liberal hogwash and bullsh!t if that were to ever happen?!? This would truly be a very GREAT country again! It amazes me the good Trump has done given the fact he's basically doing it all by his lonesome with little to no backing.
Kevin has an excellent point. Based on the economy, Trump's approval ought to be much higher, even with a hostile press. The press is not held in high regard by the majority of Americans today, I question how much influence they have now.
Except for the 35% or so that are his hard core supporters, a growing number seem to be turned off by his behavior and tweets. Pelosi is goading him because she knows he is becoming his own worst enemy. She is a worthy adversary, like it or not.
It's still a long way to November 2020. Will the electorate by then want a person who acts more in line what they believe the dignity of the office demands, or will they realize the loony left nominee ran to the center only to win and then will govern as a socialist?
Where I disagree with Kevin is if Trump loses, he only has himself to blame. We have never had this good of an economy in recent history. It is easy to blame the press and Dems for Trump's low approval numbers, that sells well here. Not so much in a lot of voter rich areas of our country though.
The reason the press isn't held in higher regard is because most Americans get their news from celebrities and pop-culture outlets. They wouldn't know true journalism if it bit 'em in the arse.
South,
If that is true, why do conservatives complain about the MSM then?
If it is true, why does FOX continue to win viewers in huge numbers over the others?
Sorry Maverick's, but you and your McCain/Romney establishment GOP appeasement dignity poppycock theorems where wrong when Trump was elected, are wrong today and will be wrong when Trump is re-elected........
"South, If that is true, why do conservatives complain about the MSM then?
If it is true, why does FOX continue to win viewers in huge numbers over the others?"
We complain about the MSM because they do not and will not report all the facts, but rather twist them to meet their agenda. Once upon a time they did offer more impartial news, not any more.
FOX is "winning" those that probably have always leaned right in the first place, which I believe is more Americans that we know. We've finally just gotten to a point where the MSM is so one-sided that the only place you probably can get the other side is on FOX...that's why. That, and some people just love having their ears tickled.
KPC is correct. throw in social media which is overwhelmingly leftist and increasingly shutting down conservative ideas and posts.
Because Trump is creating the biggest cover-up in American history by...declassifying everything that started the whole Russia collusion thing!!
I guess that I need to get the dem/lib dictionary that defines cover-up as releasing all the details, I always that it meant to hide or cover things up. Releasing the documents is the exact opposite of a cover-up, but the MSM is doing their best cry to call it a cover-up.
It is funny how the dems always call out things that they have done, but change it to Trump to create the narrative. First it was colluding with Russia(dems did it), a bunch of other things over the last 2 years, now politicizing the FBI/CIA(dems did that) and the biggest cover-up in American history(dems are trying to do this now but have been caught). They are able to make a semi-believable case because they have done it or are doing it now, all they have to do is get to the media with the story first. It reminds me of standing behind an attractive woman in line and having someone from behind you reach up and grab her a$$. Who will get blamed for it? You will, but how do you convince her that it wasn't you!!?? That is what Trump has had to deal with for the last 2.5 years, he is finally getting sick of it and going to show the people the evidence! I can't wait to see what it will show, I don't think that the MSM will be able to keep it off their airwaves!
Wasn't he actually a Democrat back when he took the actions he is accused of, like the year before he ran?
Just kidding, lighten up Francis;-)
