So I am sitting here and just realized... I believe you can buy your WY bow hunting license for Type 1 tags now and save yourself the increase... I am going to call and verify, but has anyone else tried? I know that myself, my wife and daughter are all getting tags next year.

At $30 a tag we are out $90, at the new price it is $210. Looks like I a giving my wife and daughter one more xmas present. Does anyone know, can you buy the archery stamp/tag prior to drawing anything else?

yes you can buy it. If the "checkout" doesn't show for you use the "continue shopping to get back to the license list and there you will have a checkout option.

no

not that I know of

The price increase is effective 1/1/2018 so if you buy now it's the 2017 price.

Is this for nonres to be good for September 2018??? Was thinking of putting in for a elk tag when the draw opens next month. What tags, Licenses are you talking about??

Thanks Ed

I went in to see what I "could" purchase.

The only one with any real savings would be the archery stamp (the other 2 you would only save about $6.00)- nothing else available for elk hunting - unless I'm doing something wrong?

Anyone else try to make purchases?

This will decide if you are a gambler or not.

If you purchase your archery tag now and draw your 2018 license you will have saved $40.00. If you don't draw your tag, you loose $30.00.

My second choice cow tag is almost a sure bet. Thanks again.

Done deal. I guess I'll have to archery hunt Wyoming again for the 4th consecutive year :)

Wait, how much is the Archery Stamp going up?

Did someone call WY G&F? I almost positive that archery permits are only good for calendar year...... Been here for a long time and I've never heard of a 2017 permit (which it would be if you bought it today) that is good for 2018.... correct me if I'm wrong please

Thanks for the heads-up Rob

All 3 say 2018 on the top---------->

$55 OTD (out the door checkout)

I am feeling 12 out of the last 13 years for a Gen elk tag! 'cheapie fee' or kinda not so cheapie for 2018!! haha

Good luck, Robb

Good chance I won't hunt WY in 2018 for the first time in a few years or else I would. The archery stamp is dumb anyways, but especially $70...come on.

I never understood why they charge a fee for choosing to lower your success rate.

I’m not a fan of having to buy an archery license either. Every year I tell them I’m there to pay my annual extortion fee.

That said, the fact I get the entire month of September to bowhunt , without having to share the season with muzzleloaders like some do, I don’t bitch too loudly. ;-)

Nothing is open for me to buy other than the 2018 Raffle tags. I think you guys that got in and bought an archery permit for $30 may get a big surprise because to the best of my knowledge they are only good for the calendar year and there are no permits or stamps in Wyoming that can be used for the following year unless a season that is open in 2017 continues on into 2018 like late cow hunts do.

Gunner, they opened 2018 licenses and renewals, perhaps early this year but they have a note on their web page to get in and renew your boat and other things before the price increase.

Idaho does the same thing. Pay $40 for an archery stamp...even if your tag is bow only. At least it isn't as much as Wyoming...yet. No doubt it'll change when they see how easy it is to raise prices and still retain customers just like the neighbor.

I had read a couple days ago that you could get the boat registration and a couple other things at the 2017 rate, but when I read this thread today and then tried to see what I could buy I couldn't get anything to open and there was nothing but greyed out stuff that was closed. I finally changed from my chrome browser to Firefox and that let me in to read what you said and buy stuff at the 2017 rate for the 2018 seasons with the extra stuff you're talking about at the bottom of the list that is greyed out. I guess when Windows 10 did a bunch of updates this week on my computer it must have screwed something up in the other browser.
