February Mtn Goat hunt on Kodiak
2017 was a great year. Many days were spent outdoors with good friends, doing what we love. Here are some photos, I hope you enjoy.
If you don't want to see rifle kills, might as well hit the back button cause there are a few.
Ran into this fella while he was in town.

Another great year "in the books" Nick. Other than the pic of the dude with the Irish shirt, you did well! :)
Keep em coming Nick! Awesome photos, wish I could see them in high res. You’re putting together a truly outstanding hunting resume these days. Thanks for sharing and bringing us along!
Used a rifle my wife was given by her grandfather before he passed, bet when he bought it the thought of it being used on a sheep hunt was not on his mind.

Awesome year Nick! As always, very jealous :)
Looking forward to the rest of the pictures.
Here we go...
What a year!!! Congrats on a lifetime of hunts completed in '17!!!
My buddies in MN drool over that bow killed wolf...incredible story!
Mark
Nick..... You are my new hero!!!!
Awesome! Congrats on a great year!
Great stuff Nick!
Those Super Cub photos really get my blood pumping. I got to get me one of those!
Nick, like always, another amazing year. Well done! The best part from what I saw in those pictures was not the great animals, but was the huge smile on your face, you sure are enjoying yourself. Hopefully we can share hunting camp some time in the future.
Female Roe deer, the bucks had already lost their antlers.
Female Roe deer, the bucks had already lost their antlers.
Is that a Chinese water deer, or a female roe?
I hadn't seen that pic yet :)
My saddest moment of 2017 was not that I messed up two stalks on grizzly bears, it wasn't that I bow killed a great billy only to watch him fall into an impassible canyon, it wasn't having to miss out on half my fall due to a deployment, it wasn't missing Thanksgiving or Christmas... I had to put my 10 year old lab down just days before I shipped off to Europe. This was our last walk together, even found a few grouse for her to rustle up.
I hope that everyone had a great 2017 and all the best in 18.
Man Nick!!!! As expected brother,,another unbelievable year! You are living the life my friend...great pics, scenery, and with good friends!! CONGRATULATIONS...one question,,the one pic where you showed the butchered meat,,there looks to be slices across the quarter's,,do you do that to help the meat to cool quicker??
Getting gear ready for sheep or goat, can't remember

I think that was just the slices we made to get the bigger chunks of fat off. It was bear meat and I don't like the taste of bear fat much.
Nick - you have had an incredible, blessed year of adventures and enjoyed friendships.
Take full advantage of you your youth while you can. You will savor the memories forever.
Best of 2018!!
Trevor's moose, what a fun week that was!
One of my best friends and hunting partners Jon, and I. After a very long and hard week of mountain goat hunting...my third goat hunt of the year. I love the mountains and the friendships made in them, they are both unbeatable. Trevor took this photo, great eye for the perfect photo.
Jon and I did get to share a great sheep hunt together though.
I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I enjoyed being there to take them. Our group of friends had one hell of a year in Alaska, this was just a very small part of our success. Between Trevor, my buddy Jon, roommate Riley, my wife, buddy Tyler and Taylor I'd guess we put down around 40+ animals or so. It was a non-stop kind of year, super blessed and looking forward to 2018.
Helluva year....thanks for posting your pictures.
Congrats on a great year and thanks for sharing.
You are living the dream !!!! Sorry for the loss of your dog....
The only way I could justify to myself to spend the money to see Alaska was to make it a family vacation. My wife and daughter and I are taking an Alaskan cruise in May. I have a halibut trip booked in Ketchikan, and I hope to do half as good as you did on halibut.... I'll be glad to catch one ;-)
What branch of the service are you in ???
Great pics. I assume you live in Alaska, but you don't appear to have been raised there. So just curious, how were you able to move retire there at such a young age? or do you work remotely from home in Alaska?
Good stuff Nick. Way to make it happen now and not put these trips off for the future. Looking forward to your 2018 pics. Thanks for your service. Ron
Born and raised in WI, moved away as soon as I could by joining the Air Force. I've only been in AK for 4 years but have a guaranteed 4 more there, then retire and continue working somewhere in the state.
Good luck on your Halibut trip, with any luck your arms will be VERY sore the next day!
No pictures of the Yukon fishing trip and the lunker I caught?
Even the guy at the ER said he thought it was a derby winner!
Thank you for your service to our country Nick !!!
Happy to have been there for about half of em this year bud... it’s a good thing we live 6 hours apart in this state or stuff would REALLY be in for a hurting around the state. Stay safe over there and I’ll see you in bear camp in a few months!
Cool pictures Nick! Looks like a fun year.
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing!
Mike
Congrats on a season that compares to a lot of guys entire hunting career! Nice job.
I'm always in awe... you're living my dream and I'm kinda ok with that. Stand by, here comes 2018. Ed F
Awesome thread and memories. Shows what desire and passion can get you in life :) Well done Nick!
Chase sends his condolences. And yes, a picture is worth a 1000 words. Nicely done.
my best, Paul (usaf 59-63)
Are you still in the military?
Not a bad year Nick!!! Does that super cub look familiar to me?
Have a great New Year and 2018
Too bad you didn't get to do anything fun this year.
Hope to see you next month.

Great stuff Nick. Look forward to the 2018 report!
Nick u da man buddy! One word for your year would be “excellence!”... way to represent ;-)
Heck of a year Nick and crew. Congrats!
Quite a year brother, hope this new one is even better!
Very cool. Awesome year. Good to see more people getting after it. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic, Nick! You bring the dream to life for the rest of us. Keep it up, and best to you in 2018!
You are in a league of very few buddy! Keep kicking ass and can't wait until we share another cold one:)
Cory, you aren't invited;)
I'm just jealous he didn't take my pic when I stopped to see him....
That's quite a life you've built, Nick. Wonderful and continued good luck for '18.
Very kool Sgt. Muche!!
Thanks for sharing and be safe over there man.
Good luck, Robb
Rick, I don't think you've been in that one, but several others including Mark and Kota have. It's Jonah Stewart's. I was living in Anchorage most of my spring so I was able to get out with him a few times and help him bait his brown bear stands and he was nice enough to let me hunt for black bear, which was great because I was 10 hours away from my baits.
After a week in Anc, I was losing my mind not having a place to hunt on the weekends so I found a spot near Trevor and it turned out to be a great one. I killed a brown bear on my first sit and invited JayZ (Jason) over with his nephew. His nephew saw bears but nothing we could shoot, a week or two later Jason and I sat and he killed a great black bear, his first.
Between Trevor and I, our baits were responsible for 14 dead bears and I think 6 or 7 of them were someone's first. We had an incredible spring!
Awesome stuff man, you're doing it right and living life to the fullest. Grats again.
Love seeing your pics pop up on my phone year round... they're a big motivator. For those that haven't seen them, there are a bucket load of animals that Nick has killed over the past two years that haven't shown up on Bowsite. The guy is an incredibly efficient hunter. My hat's off to your bud.
Nick, Fantastic! Thanks for posting.
Wow! You still look 18 but kill like 50!
Good for 5 years of hunting ... amazing for one..congratulations Nick
Congrats on an incredible year.
Nick you are living the dream. Thanks for sharing.
