Fatmap

I've been reading about Fatmap and it looks like it will be a game-changer for Backcountry Navigation. Like any other new technology, there will be some good and bad with it but I believe the good will outweigh the bad.

If you say so. What can be so revolutionary about it. It’s not reinventing the wheel. And, there isn’t but so many ways mapping, navigation, etc.... can be done.

Great resolution but it needs cell signal correct?

You can download data to use it off line if you pay 40 bucks a year. The resolution should be fantastic and it will have a much better ability to share and plan routes than anything currently on the market. Perhaps a bigger deal for climbers and skiers, but solid back road and trail navigation will make things easier for hunters too.

I’ll probably stay with Gaia..
