Anyone convert a fridge into a deer cooler?

If you’re looking to age deer I’ve had good results just puting quarters directly on the racks. Humididty will be an issue if you are looking for a long aging goal but for 5 or 6 days the racks worked fine.

I've used Travis's method as well for a deer, worked excellent!

Im considering removing all the shelves out of mine and just adding rods to hang quarters from. Might even add a small fan to circulate air.

I have done as Bowfreak, I have installed two rods and hang my quartered deer meat from them. I keep it at 37 degrees when hanging meat for a week or more! Shawn

Look for one of those cooler stores have, you can find them on C-list. The racks in those can hold weight.

I had one for a few years. Took all shelves out and and made a stand out of square tubing that had hooks on it for the meat and added Hazmat pads to the bottom the would soak up the blood. worked good. I could get 2 deer in it at a time.
