It got away from me. My article on female hunters-not just bowhunters- has taken on a new life. I now have an assignment for an expanded piece on women hunters in the Mid-South-TN-MS-LA-AR who hunt, not "TV Stars" just hunters, not just bowhunters. If interested, PM me.

Don't know what happened to her but Charlie White of Mississippi was one of the best female bowhunters there was. She was into bowhunting, before most of the female "bowhunting rock stars" were even born. Her bowhunting skills were renowned.

If you expand your article to the Great Lakes area don't forget Carolyn S. Zanoni. I knew her and her husband George when I was a member of Chicago Bow Hunters. REALLY nice people. May they RIP.......
"Carolyn S. Zanoni is another legendary bowhunter. Named Bowhunter magazine's Female Bowhunter of the Year in 1980, Zanoni didn't start bowhunting until the early 60s. According to the Chicago Tribune, Zanoni hunted black bear, antelope, whitetail deer, and even mountain lion with her bow. She had numerous ribbons from various competitions, and the Pope and Young Club bowhunting museum has a mountain lion pelt and mounted antelope she killed on display."

Okay- got the four women for the Mid-South. Now considering doing a Midwest piece. Need two to four contacts in the Midwest. Remember, these should be just women who hunt, doesn't have to be with a bow and no "stars". MO-IL-IA would be the main states. Again, no stars or famous women or women who make a living in the industry. Probably someone, on this forum's wife or daughter. What I need is a short 250-300 wd profile and a picture or two.

My daughter needs a real life story or two.
Thank You!

Okay-if you have a female family member or friend who fits the description, and live in IA-IL-MO, have them contact me. They can do it via here or at [email protected]

Let me, briefly, explain something. What I am working on now, are two regional magazine articles-one covering the Mid-South and that one I have taken care of. The other is the Midwest as in IA-IL-MO. I can use no more than two women due to space limitations. What I need, is a profile: How long hunting, married-kids etc., how got started, hunting experience and an explanation of how they feel about hunting and passing it on. Add one or two pictures and that is it. Can be wife, daughter whatever. For the Mid-South piece, I am using a woman from MS and one from TN and if I have room, I have a second one from TN, on tap. Ideally, for the Midwest, I would like one from MO and one from IL.

Appreciate the vote for my girls Scoot! I think Kia has become far too famous at this point to be considered for Jon's article though! Ha! She is a legend in her own mind!
