I'm sorry I just don't get it. Was in line at the local sport shop today and a guy was buying big ol' blaze orange hunting gloves. Am I missing something here or why would you want the one for sure moving part on your body to be blaze orange when the camo gloves are just around the corner?

Matches his hat.

so when you drop then you can easily find them

So you don't loose them after gutting your deer.

I'd probably have less "pairs" of gloves that where one handed if I bought orange gloves.

Bird, squirrel, rabbit, or any kind of group hunting or hunting with kids. Especially on public land during deer gun season.

Just adds to the required minimum for hunter orange.

Plus they’re easier to spot or find should you drop them out of your coat. :-)

Don't forget we can wear pink now in Colorados rifle seasons.

Gloves might meet the requirement for hunter orange clothing.... depending on your regulations..... The hunter wears all camo with orange gloves.... then takes his gloves off on stand and wears brown ones.....

Big Bear ,,,, that may actually be a genius move. Not saying this guy was that genius. But where he was at the requirement is "50%" orange filled body. So, jacket and hat usually do the job.

Deer do not see blaze orange color/ camo or any other color as the human eye sees. Deer see shades black and white color and grays. If you want to see what something looks like to a deer, take a photo of subject/object and convert it to B&W finish. You will then see what a deer sees. Deer are looking for movement, not necessary color.

if you put your hands in your pocket you better have another piece of orange on!

I actually have a set. Certain states require a minimum square inches of orange to be worn which the gloves will make up for with just a hat. But the main reason is they were cheap and I won’t lose them!

For one, he won't be able to lose them in the leaves if he tries, and two, deer can't see color. I have better luck hunting in blue jeans anyway.

Many people are accidently shot because a gloved hand moving can resemble a ear moving or twitching. Many of the shooters said that was what they had thought. People put orange vests on their dogs....orange halters and bells on their horses. You can never be too safe.

When I was a kid just starting out hunting, my parents bought me one of those big ol’orange camoflauge coveralls , gloves and hat. Here I sat in the middle of the wide open woods like a pumpkin. I learned for damn sure that deer dont see orange, or that It just doesnt make a damn bit of difference to the deer here. Ive since ditched the suit for camo during bow and an orange vest and hat during the gun season. I get your point about the guy buying the gloves. However, it wont make one bit of difference to the deer. At least around me anyway.

What it really comes down to overall is because he wanted to buy them.

I just bought a pair of orange gloves for a couple of the reasons already mentioned. 1) Deer don't see orange so "camo" is no more camouflaged than blaze orange 2) They won't get lost as easily 3) and most importantly, why not wear more orange when you're hunting public land and around every bend is another guy with a gun?

Ungulates don't see color. No issue.

You even should try the orange face paint.....you'll be invisible to the deer.

When I used to party hunt deer I always wore blaze orange gloves for easy visibility. I figured my hands were one part of my upper body that would be moving the most and I wanted to be seen for safety reasons.

If gun hunting and you are on public land, you may be stand hunting, but there are those that do drive hunts on pubiic land. If they are near you and in hilly terrain you may think they can see you, but not always. Waving at them with orange gloves on can get their attention faster letting them know you are there and where not to shoot. You can NEVER wear to much orange to be seen by other hunters during firearms season of any kind. Not being seen is when problems happen. When rabbit hunting in thick brush I want to be seen also. The only dogs we hunt with during rabbit season are the ones at the end of our legs. I have not taken shots because I could not see any of my hunt partners because it was so thick and I wasn't sure where they were. DANNY
