We have all been there - Need to fix something with Super Glue.

Super glue seems to get everywhere when applied and you have to hold it until it bonds.

Well, watch this Pro Tip I made for gluing/reparing Kydex, Plastic, Carbon Fiber

How does soda on the excess on the surface impact the glue at the break which is where the actual bond is needed.

Its been my experience that the soda quickly reinforces and bridges the break on the outside while the bonding characteristics of the glue does it job inside.

The soda and glue on the outside can be sanded down if needed

Give it a try

It forms a fast hard surface, but the strength is not there and if you cut off the air(moisture) from the inner bond, that bond will likely never cure.

This is a good emergency quick-fix, but not a permanent bond in my experience.

They make super glue accelerator spray... activates it instantly, no mess. Been using it for years... Ed F
