Interesting device but it doesn't do anything that the Garmin In-reach doesn't do already unless I'm missing something? Price is similar as well.

Price is reasonable at 175 bucks. And it's light and compact. I'll be reading reviews on this before September...

Nice, but seems like an InReach?

$175? It showed $349 on the page I saw. I agree that it is very InReach like. Will have to see what the reviews are like before I'd get one. Can you text on it stand-alone? Battery life in hours vs the Garmin mini and regular?
I like my InReach a whole bunch, and its the large Garmin yellow unit. I'd buy a Garmin mini in a heart beat

Must be a contract attached as well?

Competition is good. Maybe prices will go down

Yeah, in checking their website, the unit is priced at 350.00. Their data plan prices are similar to InReach plans, if not a little cheaper. Will be interested to hear more about people's experience with the unit. One thing I do like about InReach is that it works stand-alone, and I don't have to rely on a smart phone, unless I want to.

My bad, I saw "175,000" pre-orders, and focused on the 175. 350 is pretty steep for that tech...I'll keep carrying the InReach.

And here I was a little upset about not getting the InReach for Christmas. I like this idea

Can’t be enhanced as inReach works everywhere already.

What satellite system is it using, iridium as well? Globalstar is about as worthless as a smoke signal when you go way up north.
