Learned yesterday from his wife via social media that Roy (Keef) Keefer, is in a rough spot. He needs as much uplifting support that we can give. Enjoyed talking with him at several P&Y conventions. Soft spoken and good man.
From his wife Shelby... "This is Roy's wife Shelby. Roy had a second bleed and although it stopped quickly the swelling caused seizures. He is in a medically induced coma right now and we are praying that when they ease him off the sedation he will recover fully. Please pray for Roy. Thank you."
Story at the link as well. Praying for this good man...

Shelby, If I have watched the video of you and Roy on his archery brown bear bowhunt once, I have watched it at least ten times. Roy has always been a very friendly fellow bowhunter, and I wish him the best during this challenge. I also hope that you are holding up well.
Roy sitting beside my wife at the St. Louis P&Y Awards Banquet. Always carrying on some kind of humor.

Prayers from MT. Sorry to hear.
Praying for a full recovery.
My father faced this same situation 3 years ago. Hit in the face with a tree limb. Doctors had to do 2 brain surgeries within a week to get everything cleaned out. He made a 100% recovery. I hope our experience can give hope to this mans family. With prayer and good doctors his chances are good. Prayers sent from Arkansas.
Keef is a true gentleman. I met him years ago on a hunt. This past season he gave me all kinds of detailed info on a Nevada mule deer unit. When I came home unsuccessful, he offered to have his son to take time off from work to go back for another try. A fine man. Get well so we can see you at Omaha P&Y.
Prayer sent. Meet him in St. Louis, fine person.
To a quick recovery Roy...

From Shelby, this morning...
"Roy was taken off sedation yesterday and we are waiting to see how he responds. Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes."
I was able to visit Roy and Shelby while in Las Vegas and have been interacting on web sites for many years. Definitely a class guy and his trophy room made my jaw drop. His ( and Shelby's ) hunting success show me as an amateur.
Prayers for them both from the NW.

Thanks for the link Buffalo1 There are some nice pictures and a few of his articles there. Just wish the magazine pages could be enlarged- not working for these old eyes even with glasses.
when Roy posted he had another story coming out, I checked the magazine rack until I found it. Not subscribing to much any more but always tried to support Team Keefer.

When we visited their Las Vegas home about 2010 Roy and Shelby had over 40 mounts and lots of pictures. For a quiet mannered accountant he was a Serious hunter and knew how to take good pictures and write a worthy story.
Wishes for peace and tranquility to help his family through this pain.
This is a terrible sadness.
Keep the faith, Robb
