I wanted to tell you all with gratitude in my heart how much your kind words and prayers meant. My dad passed last night at 2310. I was at his side, listening to his final heartbeats in my stethoscope. I was able to read your words to him 2 days ago in response to his thread (It Was a Good Run) and I know he heard them even though all he could do was change his breathing pattern and raise his eyebrows. Thank you all again and enjoy your hunts with friends and family. This picture is of him on his final hunt, chasing antelope on the plains of New Mexico last August. God Bless.

Lost my father two years ago. It becomes numb after a while. Hunting (and most things we did) are not and will never be the same. I can't even bring myself to go to our old hunting spots, maybe one day but not just yet. Probably wait till my son is a bit older and start new memories. Keep the memory alive and remember the good...it will sustain you my friend. May he rest in peace
