If it was a week later, I'd be there, but have other commitments that weekend and can't make the trip down. Sucks, because it's relatively close for me.

I'm going. It's only about 6 hours for me in Northeast Pa, just north of Scranton.. Anyone passing thru or on my way there can hitch a ride with me. Just let me know. Probably head down early Thursday morning leave Sunday morning.. Ed

My wife still only allows me to be in a “social setting” with Zack once a year. Since we’ll be at WSF January, I will have used up my limit. So, I won’t be going to Virginia. In ‘21 I get by with a technicality in Reno since WSF and P&Y will both be there in the same year. I’m counting that as “once”...;)

I wanted to make it to meet the guys that haven't been out west the past few conferences, but I have to work those days and no way out of it.
I'll be at Reno for sure.

One of these years my schedule will line up work wise to attend these things annually. But for now it keeps falling on a situation where I burn 48 hours of PTO that id rather save for fall. That said I’ll probably burn time off for Reno

Trophies are being invited? I thought it was mentioned in Omaha that would continue to be done only every 2 years?
From: StickFlicker
12-Dec-19
Stick, the top animals of all-time in each category are being invited for display. It may set a new record for the most P&Y world record animals on display in one place (except perhaps the first P&Y convention where there were potentially new WRs in every category?). I think the record was probably set at the Phoenix convention in 2015, where there were 9 world records on display (3 new ones and 6 previous WRs on display in the Bowhunting in Arizona Records booth). Most conventions usually have 3-4 new world records on display.
I'm not sure if this invitation of past top animals will occur on all "off" year conventions, or if this is meant to be a one-time thing for the first one.

I can show off my hernia surgery scars in Reno for some excitement. Perhaps a Bowsite fundraiser type thing. Like a side show viewing type thing. Thinking of ideas anyway. Just hope Jaquomo doesn't have his peep show set up next to me. That will be embarrassing for me.

I wish that there was a Cabelas closer than 7 hours away, then I'd send an animal of mine that was invited. Just too much of a hassle!

I just read that when you miss a P&Y convention you lose your P&Y points. Like when you don't put in for your tag.. :)
From: t-roy
13-Dec-19
Ed...You can just put in for points only....BUT you will lose them if you don’t go at least every other year ;-)
I think that another possible fund raising idea in Reno, might be to have some sort of fashion show featuring Ned and ki-ke modeling their latest unmentionables. I know I’d definitely pay to NOT to see that!

To clarify, we won't have the top 4 or 5 from the current recording period. We are sticking with the every other year recording period, so the animal awards will be given out on odd numbered years. In order to keep all P&Y conventions a must see event, we have invited all of the current WR's and a lot of the top animals in each category. We have at least 12 WR's committed and many others are probable. We have over 30 trophies committed so far. It will be a fabulous display of top end archery trophies. By having annual conventions, we can move around to many different areas and give more members a chance to attend a convention close to home. No matter who shows up, we are going to have a blast.
