As boredom grows I would love to see some of the new taxidermy from the last few years hunts that you received the last year ....I have given my taxidermist free range on my mounts these past few years on my animals and think they have turned out great. Post up!

I want to see some nice whitetail pedestal mounts - thinking of putting my big NJ 10 on a pedestal with habitat. I have about 20 shoulder mounts on the wall. Need something different.

We are also mounting one of the proudest moment of my hunting life...my wife isn't a hunter but we went to Africa this year and she decided to give it a go. She took her first animal (rifle kill) but couldnt be prouder. Beautiful kudu will be back to us soon as well as several others as well as a few birds for me

That blacktail mount is awesome. I REALLY hope to be able to do something similar in a couple years. Just love how they look!

Very nice! Blacktails make some of the prettiest mounts out there, so much color and contrast to them.

If anyone else has pics with multiple deer on a pedestal tree mount, I’d love to see them. I got a great mule deer this year, 7 ft basement ceilings, and piñons all over our place in NM. Thinking of doing a tall piñon and adding to it. Appreciate any contributions!

A little different angle
Here’s a couple that I did on a hedge post, a few years ago. My taxidermist mounted the deer but I did the the rest of the mount myself, with components that came off my farm, that had a lot of significance to me. Very enjoyable project.

Troy, those look great I’m telling you. Very nice.
I did a half mount on my Black Bear. I’m particularly fond of a natural materials used around a mount.

T-Roy can u tell me what forms you used.? They are awesome. I am thinking of putting this buck on a cedar post on a pedestal.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
Jack.....You better use a BIG cedar post for that stud! ;-) I don’t remember which form I used on the 10 pointer, but I’m pretty sure that I used a Dennis Behn form for the 8 pointer.

My best... not sure about what form was used. My taxi always modifies them. The yucca was used because it is very prevalent in the area and easy to clean.

Anyone try this McKenzie form yet? Wall pedestal with habitat ? I am also considering as an option.

I actually have a vision, an idea to cut a 4-5’ cedar post and drill in some artificial habitat like what I just found on VanDyke taxidermy. Make some sort of base. My buck grew up in cedars and came out of cedars before I shot him. And I have several big cedar trees to cut up from an ice storm damage. I cannot find an example of this anywhere. Thoughts?

CO archery ram. It's not a Desert but where I shot him was the desert and the mount reflects it. I have a friend who is an exceptional taxidermist outside of Houston but the conditions made getting my ram to him impossible and losing the cape in 90 degree+ weather was a real threat. I met Greg Brumfield at sheep and goat orientation and thought his work was very good. He did an exceptional job matching the granite where I hunted.

These ND Muleys were taken on our farm 7 years apart, but within 100 yards of each other. I built the pedestal out of barnwood from the farm, and the dirt and plants all came from the same hill.

G5 - I’m not much of a bird hunter but that pose is beautiful and the taxidermy superb
Justin - that’s a neat pose and not easy to do - very nice
Ike - interesting concept on those pedestal mounts, and I really like the collage of trophy photos
Ohio - that’s truly a monster whitetail, did he make B&C gross?

Really enjoyed the story Jim. Took my biggest Whitetail back in 2009 (mid-160s with 4x broken tines), and can really relate to having a near nervous breakdown waiting that 30 minutes to follow up.

This is my 2018 Ram mount. Hiked 52 miles in 5 days and got one opportunity. He was an 8 1/2 year old Ram, went 164 4/8" and my taxidermist Doug Krough of Eagle Ridge Taxidermy did an outstanding job on this wall pedestal.

There is always more wall space to be had. A look at any trophy room thread will validate that. Yours is very tastefully done and compliments the mounts Nicely
