Idaho gets it done. Save a lot of elk for sure. Lolo area ate up with wolves and has been for a long time. Sure are not any elk left in there. Use to have great elk hunting in there.
Not sure the total numbers but they took a bunch of dogs outta there this year. Good start to getting something done before there are zero elk left in the zone.

Sounds like a good thing to me. I don’t elk hunt, but I feel for those that have had the herds decimated by wolves.
Which zone did they transport them to?

BC is doing the same thing. Caribou are coming back where they cropped wolves the year before. First good caribou news we've had lately! Certainly will help any of the ungulate populations in the area!
Hopefully they're killing the wolves. Releasing them to some other area to wreak the same havoc doesn't make sense.

This leads to wonder? If a state GFP is going to these measures to thin these critters out , why would any state want to let them go in their own state?

I use to bowhunt elk in that region some 30 years ago and it was a great place to truck hunt for elk. You could access the back country by vehicle and day hunt from there. It really makes me sick what happened there. I wish everyone could realize what could happen in places like Colorado.
