Do you use Trail Cams for camp security?

I am wondering if anyone does this and if they have any tips/experience that they have in using them for this type of thing. Photos of the camera setups would be great.
I do. I have a couple, high up (need a ladder to get to them) to keep them out of line of sight. I don't check them frequently. Yet I do check them frequently enough to make sure batteries are good.
We installed a few at the archery range this year after getting ransacked during Christmas break. No biggie, just shot up all the pop with bb guns. Kids being ornery.
Yep. hang one if we leave camp for a few days to go into town for supplies . Luckily around these parts camps are not messed with very often. More often than not we just catch pics of the wildlife strolling through while we're gone.
Yup! Still looking for this jerk! Stealing SD cards out of cameras as he walked our property consistently for a couple of weeks. This one we hid good enough he didn’t see it!
My brother uses one of the cellular game cams on his driveway. Any time I drive in and he’s not home he calls within 2 minutes and asks what I’m after.
We use Cuddelink's around our place! It's pretty amazing what goes on when you're not around!
Last year on my sheep hunt left camper on NF and would spike in or for 2-3 day and then come back for a night to camper. So hung a camera up in a tree as high as could get it using a ATV ramp and a ladder behind and off to side of camper. Worked fine and no problems. Although if you do it make sure to tell anyone that might show up. I forgot about it come to find out behind the camper is a popular place to take a leak for a buddy or brother.
Been trying to upload this photo since my original post.
Yes, I do to warch my base camp trailer. Have never had an issue with lurkers. But I moved camp in a hurry last fall and forgot to pull my camera from one popular camping spot. Had my name and phone number on it but nobody ever called. I figure that one is toast.
I've used them for security to see who was driving in our gates and just recently I used them to catch a thief where I work! A little over a month ago, we had a brand new portable drill with batteries, charger and case walk off. There's a night crew and a weekend crew that have access through a breezeway into the back of our shop (another parent company). After the all the guys were gone on a Friday afternoon, I put up the old covert trailcam in a nicely hidden spot. Came back on Monday morning and took it down before my guys arrived and wouldn't you know it... 12 pics of the culprit! The first 10 (lights on) were of the fella coming in and casing the place and the latter two (lights out) were of him walking out with a diamond deck toolbox that we use for one of our line of clamps that we sell. I submitted them to our HR and to the other company's manager, and he was fired when he came in for work for his next shift.
The sucky thing was he was their most productive employee and was also the weekend lead. He HAD keys to all of the buildings. Now all of the stuff my day time lead was telling me he couldn't find, made sense. I will say... it felt REALLY F'N good! :)
Edit: If you look closely, I put a Dewalt grinder box there for bait. The grinder was removed and I added weight that was equivalent to the weight of the grinder and taped the box back up.
No, I don't think they pursued charges. I figure they felt it would be a waste of money to go to court over a couple hundred dollars worth of merchandise and the fact that he was also likely to lose his other job because a kid that worked with him on the weekends, also worked with him on his M-Th job. Actually, the kids Father was the shop foreman there.
Putting one up today on my constitution yard
Check out Wyze if you have wifi and electricity these record continuous and you can see everything on your phone
Link sez......."My brother uses one of the cellular game cams on his driveway. Any time I drive in and he’s not home he calls within 2 minutes and asks what I’m after."
Tell him you came to change out the SD cards in your cam in his bathroom covering the crapper.
Awesome to see the guy got caught! Do yo have a pic of how you hid the camera?
I use 2 in camp, that way I get two different angles.
Plus to old Primos 35's in my backyard and Ring out front door.....

Ya, had a dog digging craters in my back drive. Also have around the house.
I put a trail cam at elk camp to monitor things
I keep my cell cams active and always use one where and when I want to keep an eye on certain areas. It sends me an alert and photo so fast that I would have time to catch somebody in the act.
I don't but that is a fine idea.
I do / I have / I will. I put one atop of a tall sign post as you enter our gate, (remote recreational land with a cabin). I had one stolen, one shot, and a couple that just quit working.
Anyways the only culprit on camera is a neighbor stealing firewood trees from the place, and it is just easier to let that ride than create a riff.
I have gotten moose / bear / bob cat / and tons of deer pictures though.

I keep a few around the property to watch for game and human intruders.
I’ve seen friends use a sucker camera. Basically it’s a garbage camera in plain sight aiming at whatever you want to protect. Then they have another camera that is more covert pointing at the broken camera and valuable. It’s beautiful to catch them not only trespassing or stealing but also destroying the garbage camera.
