This may be closed and deleted, and I know that it has nothing to do with bowhunting!
But a great American has passed away! A True Patriot and and a Wonderful Christian Man! I just wanted to say RIP Brother, you are now in the hands of the Lord!!!

I also want to add, he was pro hunting, archery and gun, pro first and second amendment and supported all these things, how can that be wrong?

Ahhh man! Sad deal for sure. An American icon like no other. Every time my two young daughters get in the truck they ask me to play “Devil went down to Georgia”. They love that dam song. RIP Charlie.

I saw him in concert in the early 80's at McNichols Sports Arena in Denver. He put on a great show and played a mean fiddle. RIP Charlie.

Yes it is sad news. I put on one of his CD's and cranked it while working in the garage today. A band I truly wish I would have got a chance to see.

And no disrespect intended, but there ain’t but one Simple Man. And that was recorded circa ‘73 by Skynyrd. In Doraville. Touch of country in the city. ;-)

I saw the CDB in 1985 in CT. My buddy and I waited next to the bus and got the honor of meeting Mr. Daniels. He was a true gentleman. We lost a great voice this week. He was one of the best.

I always loved his music and his lyrics are awesome. I seem to always have the Legend of Wolley Swamp in my head when I walk past or talk about a swamp or wetland. I'm sure that is one soul the devil isn't stealing.....RIP Charlie
