How has the year been for fires out west so far? Back when I was out there in northcentral CO in 2018, there was a bunch of fires going. Haven't heard much so I assume not much of a fire season this year????

It's firing up now, no pun intended. Wyoming has a couple, Colorado does as well. Arizona does too I believe. It's been extremely dry in most parts of the Rockies except for some mountain towns and smaller areas. We got word of a fire near a ranch we work for yesterday and it has blown up today. We need rain badly all over the west. Bring on the monsoons please !
I think all the covid stuff has kept wildfires out of the main spotlight.

NV has had a few, mostly near urban areas...Reno and now Carson City areas!

If Covid wasn't going on they would have you thinking the entire west was burning up and drought would soon be bringing about the end of the world.
In reality, so far pretty minor fire season in MT. Hasn't been hot yet. 10 day forecast is hot and dry.......

It's been a terrible fire season in Arizona so far, with some of the largest in history. Every few days another one starts. It's been especially bad around Central AZ, Phoenix area this year, but the Kaibab is on fire too.

The sunset last night here on the Front Range in Colo was amazing. It sure reflects what looks like a fire somewhere?

Fires were cancelled because of Covid. Once the virus dies down they’ll flare up.

Was out hanging cameras today in NoCo and it was green and lush in the bottoms, but definitely dry up top. No fires that I know of in the vicinity, but the potential is definitely there. It’s 99 degrees in Fort Collins as I’m typing this... Poudre
