A friend found this on a NJ beach....Unlike any skull I’ve seen, If it even is a skull?
Any educated guesses, if not factual ID???

Are those teeth on it? I could not tell. If not, almost looks like it could be a vertebrae of some kind. Like the narrow end fits into the wide end, if you had another one.
It is really cool regardless.
I am far from an expert. Definitely interested to know though.

i believe this is on the right track. Perhaps not a Cobia skull, but something close? If you look close in some of the pics, you can see a small atlas bone, where the skull pivots on the vertebrae.....
