Or Stub-tailed squirrel. They look very different with abnormal tail.

Looks just a bit short, body wise, for a mink, but he could be a bit bunched up, though. Otherwise, my guess would be a mink.

The body and neck look too short for a mink, IMO
I'm going with a Least Weasel.

X2 Matt. Mink are usually found near riparian locations also, and that pic looks more upland.

Little female mink, or a weasel. Kind of hard to tell.

It looks more like a weasel.

Looks like it’s running in the pic. And if it’s running for office, then it’s definitely a weasel.

Don’t ya think weasels would be whiter by now.? I’ve caught many mink in fox traps at upland locations

Weasels are tiny in size, about the size of a common rat. That animal looks way bigger and nearly solid brown in color. More like a mink.

I think it’s got a mouse. The original photo in high definition shows it more clearly

Minks are pretty good hunters. The Mink Man has some great vids showing his minks and dogs working together to get rats and muskrats.

It’s Illinois. Not many weasels there unless you go to a city. It’s a mink!

Looking at it closely it looks like a gray squirrel with something in its mouth. My guess

I’m sure it’s not a squirrel. This is 100 yds from a small creek which has some water all the time and flows 80% of the time. South east Illinois

On a side note, this thread reminded me of something. Years ago I was hunting and saw a mink coming through the woods. When he was about ten feet away he turned and looked up at me. I thought he saw me. He came over to the tree and started climbing up. Came up about 12 or 15 feet, stuck his head in a hole and came out with a mouse.
I used to have a picture, but that was 3 or 4 phones ago.
I see mink in the timber occasionally. Never seen anything like that before or since.

I saw a mama mink and youngins cross the road once. Looked like a 6 foot long furry slinkie wiggling across the road from a distance. Didn’t know what it was until I was easing up to them. I stopped and they scattered. My wife and I got out of the truck and they were all around it. Would have been easy to catch one. It seemed like the mama started chattering in the ditch and they all be lined off the road and back on their way.it was cool. I’m not likely to forget it.
