I can see a number of (as phill Robert’s would say) yuppies making the yearly journey giving them yet another reason to out do (and out party) the next. Brilliant really when you think about it... It's got to be some sort of wild publicity stunt. If not, the rep needs to go to school and take some science, philosophy, and similar courses to learn how to apply scientific and or legal reasoning to his decision making process.

Other than having to deal with the paper work, what the heck?
Come to think of it, it sorta strikes me like those towns that have mascot mayors like a goose or a pig or whatever for who knows what reason. Heck, in a few weeks we will all celebrate 6 weeks left in winter or 6 left till spring thanks to the forecasting of a 4 pound rodent... Bring it on with the Sasquatch hunt!
A few years ago they passed a bill that named the Ribeye as the state steak. Our state vegetable is a watermelon. All three of these things are bills introduced by the local politicians to draw attention to their districts. When your state houses are full of Republicans that believe in limited government, what else is there to do. I’d rather have Republicans introducing stupid, meaningless bills than Democrats trying to dictate every aspect of our lives.

Well Keith, if they taste like that I’ll have to pass. Timber wolf tastes like a wet dog blanket smells and Bald eagle is stringy and tastes as bad as Whooping Crane.
I don't hunt in trees or ground blinds, so to make my ground game more feasible, I wear ghille suits and various head dress gear that make me look "not human". I have had a few friends jokingly remark that at twilight in semi-open areas I look like a "sasquatch" walking through the woods.
Considering that we have all heard stories, and even had discussions on this forum about hunters getting shot by other hunters, I would be very concerned walking around out in the field with my hunting attire. Especially when you see some of these "bigfoot" shows on TV and you get a feel for the type of outdoorsman a bigfoot enthusiast seems to be.
All joking aside, I think it's very irresponsible for a law maker or politician to propose or pass a bill that makes a bipedal hominid a justifiable target. Very short sighted. Some hunting organization needs to write an intelligent rebuttal to such legislation. Stay safe...

I agree, I think government officials should spend their time more wisely. For instance, making it illegal to designate the difference between the mens and womens public restrooms.
If I ever did see bigfoot, I sure as hell wouldn't shoot it. BTW, my wife calls our son in law Bigfoot. He wears size 14 boots. I can't imagine why anyone would want to kill one is it does exist. I hope they do exist.

I watched a video last night on Amazon Prime. They are attempting to match unknown primate DNA found in the Pacific Northwest to 100k year old Gigantopithecus bones.
I hunted hogs with Jerry Rushing in NC (wrote Moonrunners and Dukes of Hazard).... he was a big believer. Promised to make a millionaire out of whoever delivered a body. He was definitely not waiting on tags if the opportunity presented itself. He was gonna figure out the details after he got the thing in the freezer.
He had several stories about sightings and they all boiled down to hunters not being able to take the shot due to Bigfoot looking too much like a man. According to Jerry, in NC they had light brown hair and a thin coat. The man was a story teller by nature, but to hear him tell it, he was dead serious.

I play music at nursing homes when I can and a lady asked me what size shoe I wore. I told her size 12 and she told me “you know what they say about big feet, what do you say we go up to my room when you get done and we research that.” There were 100 people in the room and usually I have a good retort. I was speechless as the place went nuts.
