Does anyone have an opinion regarding Vortex Vipers vs. Vortex Razors....pricing is pretty close...what exactly does the Razor have that the Viper doesn't have??
Thanks, Joe

I've had my Razors since 2008. I think they've been improved since then with better coatings but I've been super happy with them.
I thought the Razors were about twice the price of the Vipers?

I have been looking at binos through vortex. If your talking about binos and MSRP on viper HD is $649.99 and the razor hd is $1299.99 in the 10x42 size. Are you finding prices closer. Now again this is MSRP and can find vipers for about 500. The prices I listed are right from there website

I've looked through both, and bought the Razors. I'm very happy with them. Not sure there is a difference of $500 between the two, but razors are much clearer.

I bought Vortex a few years ago. Had a very minor problem with them. Vortex gave me a brand new pair, no questions asked! You can't beat their customer service. A great Wisconsin and bowhunting friendly company!

I got a Vortex scope for my .300 Winny a couple of years ago. I think it is a fantastic piece. For my eyes....the glass is great. I know their customer service is great too. I was normally a Leupold guy up till this Vortex....now I'm adding Vortex to my list. I just bought a new, spiffy 6.5 PRC today. I was looking at Leupold's last night and to be honest....I wasn't impressed with their selections for what you're paying. That is another plus for Vortex....price/quality/service. I suspect their bino's are top quality too. I've seen YT's of folks using their spotting scopes.

Another pretty good Vortex deal if you need a spotting scope

I was just checking out the Vortex products on Expert Voice. Their warranty's are second to none. If Vortex is written on it and something happens....your fault, someone else's fault, nobodies fault....they got you covered. The examples they gave were fire damage, you drove over it, you sold it and the new owner dropped it....doesn't seem to matter.
I was looking at the Zeiss products (at least their scopes) and their warranty looked like it was 5 year deal and limited.
The Athlon binos, scopes and spotting scopes looked real nice. However I don't know anyone that has Athlon products for a reference.

I had the Razors for years. Had the old style and managed to scratch them. Returned them and they were replaced with the new HD's, their warranty is great from my experience. A couple years back I decided I wanted to try to Fury's, ranging binos. I didn't realize the Fury's have a lower quality glass than the Razors. I hated them in low light! Ended up selling the Fury's and bought a pair of Swaro SLC's. In summary, the Vortex warranty is awesome but I would only but the Razors if buying again.
