Can’t complain about the weather when you create it.
I wish both sides of this issue would just leave the wildlife management decisions to biologists.

Re-listing may actually help Colorado's cause. It could put the reintroduction ballot initiative that was passed on pause, at least for a while.

Wolves are way over the objective numbers. If they dip below they automatically get relisted. No way are these states planning on having that happen. This is just a predictable move by one side to counter a move by the other. More of the same in the story of wolf introductions. Biologists are an important part but there are other factors to wildlife management aside from the science.

The petition and listing review can take years to complete. Watch Colorado reintroduce then they get listed…then the Feds take jurisdiction. Uh oh
I think the USFWS would prioritize the petition for listing and get a decision out relatively speaking.
